Can we last...?

Spursex

Alert Team
From the day we appointed Poch my concern with his high-press/counter press was did we have the (player) resources (and the mental stamina) to make it last through-out the whole of the season right up until the very last game..

Rose and Walkers joint interview where they talked so highly about him as the best coach ever was more enlightening for me as they said that they didn't always agree with his approach, but in the end he always managed to be proved right...

Can we last, or will we once again burn out?

I still can't see us winning the league, and have to admit 'just' finishing above le arse (as long as we're in the top 4) would represent a great league performance to me..

Anyway, click this link and listen to the conversation, it's worth it..

Any other way to watch that?

Anyway, watched an interview with MP the other day and he specifically said that the meltdown was a men-tali-tee problem.

I would imagine we will never see the player data that supports either argument.

And, I would hazard a guess, like most ex-player pundits, Scholes is living in the past. When Spurs would choke.

I guess it comes down to rotating key players at the right time. and being lucky with the injury room. If everyone coming in has the same hunger and is on the same page as our 'first 11' maybe we can keep it up. I look at how Trippier and Davies, Wimmer and Winks have walked in for a game and think fair play. They look drilled and up for it.

I worry about goals and over reliance on Harry. Disappointed Lamella is out and Sisoko is unconvincing IMHO. But I said that about Wanyama - so proves what I know.

Leicester did it.

This whole Poch teams burnout is a myth that should be put to bed.

In his 3 full seasons in the PL, twice his teams accumulated more points in round 2 and once (Last year) we got the same amount of points in both rounds.

If you are going to use past performances to try and predict the future, then we will surpass 39 points this round. :14:

I think I can see the strength we now have in depth but I have to honest Stu and say that I think Leicester is a poor example here mainly because last season they were almost diametrically opposed to the way we're playing now, so much of their game and their wins was through absorbing huge amounts of pressure and then when they did win the ball playing fast, long counter attacking football - they didn't play game after game with the high levels of distance and intensity that we did and are now...

Looking at Poch's history with clubs at the latter stages of the season draw nearer, it bothers me that if we can keep it up and if anything I'm almost longing for a game where we pinch a lead against the run of play and are then forced to sit back and absorb the pressure and still win, if you like, winning despite not playing well...I think that's when our mental strength will show - not quite the example I was looking for but yesterday's game between the Bin dippers and the Manure told me yet again that Mourinho can still get a team over the line, despite not looking that good or playing that well (ok, I understand they didn't win, but I use as a quick example of what I'd like to see us pull off..)

Well chelski still have to play liverpud and Manure away and Shitty and Arse at home ....so will drop some points in those games

So If we win at shitty and home to le arse and manure we are in with a shout of the league....

Assuming we play against the shittier teams like we did against WBA...

and on the face of our last 2 league games...yes we can last and see it through

Just presume we will bottle it, if we don't it's a bonus, if we do you were expecting it anyway.
