Can the Gills win the Champions League?

With a new and very wealthy owner there is absolutely no reason why Gills could not make the Premiership.

Just a space filler on a slow news day for Kent on Line.

The simple fact is we could with a wealthy owner just as clubs, who were historically our peers have e.g Reading and Bournemouth.

We know we won't under Scally but we've discussed that one to death. We can all dream even if it seems the impossible dream.

I would love a European adventure with Gills before I die t :-)

Never stop dreaming, for us oldies we never imagined playing in Div 1 (championship in modern speak) but it happened - giiiilllllsssssss

One season in the Premiership followed by five years of freefall down through the league?

Hmmm, not sure about that one!

It happened to The Cobblers, promotion from Div 4 1961 reached the 1st Div 1965 relegated 1966, and back in Div 4 for the start of the 1969 season.

We need to be beating teams like Blackpool, to have any chance of winning the CL! I'm sure they'll be tougher opposition on the aynto the CL final...
