With either the squad we have currently, or with Anderson replaced?

This is just a check on how optimistic Vital is in general really.

Too many unknowns for me still - I'm not sure we even know who our manager will be yet. I do think (hope?) that we see one or two of the squad players make more of a mark this season. Hutchinson and McAtee are the two I think most likely to really step up.

I've managed to not answer the question at all there though - I think we could achieve a top half finish if we do things right this summer, and I think we could have another very good season chasing Europe if we do things well this summer.

But a bad summer will be another relegation battle.

We can if we recruit well. No point thinking in terms of the current squad as it will change quite significantly over the next few months.

It's a tentative yes from me at the moment, but quite prepared to change that view if window doesn't go well

If we kept the squad and added a few then without Europe definitely

Lose key players its so much harder predict

Hence why I dont usnderstand selling them

As of now Ive said yes

It’s the first time in a while I’m concerned about our recruitment strategy. Even year 1, whilst being scattergun, was still pretty ambitious. I really hope we’ve learned that we need ready made and EPL experience ALONGSIDE youth and potential. If we haven’t, I fear it’ll be another tough year

It’s about balance. Players who are ready to push us forward now and players who can step up if needed but who will be the future of the club.

Without the distraction of Europe and the associated injuries and fatigue, allied to a more settled management structure I think a top half place is eminently achievable. I’d be quite happy with a couple of 7th-10th place finishes in the coming seasons to really cement out PL status along with some decent forays into the domestic cups. EM I don’t think will settle for such mediocrity…

The plan was to ask now, and then ask at the end of the window and look at the difference.

In that case, we dont sell ando or savona, we discover 3 world class gems including a number 9 who makes haarland look like a clogger and romp the league after scoring over 150 goals.
