This country is amazing but also incredibly fucked up. I think most logic people here would agree with you too. There is also the ridiculousness of the ease of access to AR-15s. Absolutely no need to have one other than fun at the target range. Never mind buying a gun If you own a gun I would agree that you have to declare any new meds and do a psych analysis at some reasonable rolling interval.

Its like everything a tiny portion cast a microscope on everyone else.
 
There is absolutely no reason that any civilian should have access to any type of assault weapon/fully automatic weapon, period. I have no problem as such, with hunters having shotguns and "normal, responsible" people being allowed to have hand guns for recreation and personal protection. Obviously (and I don't have the solution) the checks for the purchase and ownership have got to be tightened down somehow. As I said on "the really interesting thread" yesterday, I'm getting concerned about gun crime issues down here. I love the US but it bothers me that every single day on our local news the stories are all about gun crime and only yesterday I had a talk with my daughter about whether or not she would feel safer packing. Thankfully she made it easy for me by saying she didn't really want one for protection. I work in the hood fairly often and have never had a problem but gun crime can occur anywhere nowadays and I am seriously considering it. If I do get one I'm sure I'd catch a shitload of flack on here but it's easy to judge people when you're living in a pretty much gun crime free country like England and not in a place like I am where you can be a victim at any time.

This is a wonderful country but gun crime is my biggest concern here. The rest of the world think America is like the Wild West and we all go around shooting everybody, it's not and we don't and for all the concern everyone has about gun crime, believe me, nobody is as concerned as we are.

 
As an outsider looking in, it's seems a 'no-win' situation to me.

If you decide to have a side arm, I'm sure you'd feel more at ease, the fact you're in a position to defend yourself if the need occurred. On the other side of the coin of course, is the fact that if it is known you are armed, it could actually attract more attention.

Only you can decide. We're not there, you are.

Nothing to do with being a Muslim though apparently. The bloke worked at the place and had a fall out at a staff do and returned with his wife and started shooting.
 
More Anti Muslim stuff , we all know it's just an attempt by the media to demonise these peace loving fun people shame on you all.
Done't everyone have the odd AK 47 and a few pipe bombs in the garden shed just in case they need to blow away a few infidels ?
 
Just think how funked in the head you would have to be as a couple to have an argument at work and then drop your baby off to go together to massacre people.

They are dead sweetie. Daddy was angry because the coffee machine at work was broken so him and mommy went and shot everyone but ended up getting shot themselves.

American news channels now reporting that the couple were well equipped and a local source talking about some kind of radicalisation. Source CNN.
 
Cheers for that update Wurz dude not heard that yet cheers man, i watched this unfold last night on CNN it was unreal seeing the swat team and military using these giant robotic devices and dead body etc from the helicopted news pictures,

All this will be here next now we have announced bombing over Syria somewhere will get it over here we just know it.

It's already happening here! Been on TV enough and the media that the special forces have foiled 7 attacks in the last year by them
