Buzz on the Spot - Arsenal v City 21st December 2015

Buzz Lightyear

Alert Team
Of all my years as a City supporter, this fixture, when we have had the pleasure of meeting them in seasons we have been in the same position is the one I dislike most (after the rags games that is) I think I can count on both hands the number of times that I have seen us beat them and most of those have been in recent years, they always seem to thrash us, so victory is extra special when it happens. I wonder if there is a head to head stat somewhere?

This is the last game before Christmas, so Merry Christmas to Everyone          :santa:

Head to head here Buzz

The law of averages suggests that we're due a run of wins against them - partisan home crowd or not, our squad is better than theirs and we know our team can outplay anyone if they're in the mood.

Happy Christmas everyone, and here's hoping City are in the mood tonight!

Arsenal had this one right in tactics, defend in numbers but when you attack City's defence will help you out and so it proved to be, although having the majority of the possession 40/60 we could do nothing with it to create chances. It was City that created the mistakes for Arsenal to lead when in the 33rd minute Walcott smacked it in and again just on half time City lost the ball and got punished and in the premier make your shots count. Arsenal 2 shots 2 goals City 7 shots 1 on target and City could have lead with De Bruyne just missing. City looked Ok with Arsenal defending in numbers, the corner count at HT was 1-4, but it is goals that count and the gooners finishing was clinical.

City came out fighting in the 2nd half, Sterling had replaced Delph and It was not until Navas came on for Silva that City started to get into and around the back of Arsenal causing a few gooners fans hearts to flutter. The ref, well he could have been kinder to City but they always favour the home side and I hope Wenger has a word with Campbell on improving his diving and antics.

It was Yaya who appears to have lost a yard of pace got City back into the game and once his goal went in spoiling Cech's hope of beating the clean sheet records, it was wave on wave of City attacks, but sadly they could not find the net. City ended with 20 shots on goal but only 6 on Target, The gooners walk away 3 points closer to the top, but City gave them a fight in the end, if onloy that fight had started 90 minutes earlier.

Henry - 'Red Kev was greedy with his shot on 33mins and should have played in Silva earlier.'

Carragher A poor pass by Mangala let Arsenal in for their second goal

Toure ' We were a little unlucky - We played very well but it not easy to come to Arsenal, but we lost the ball for that first goal.'

'We can buzz back on Saturday'

Pellegrini was asked because we have lost 5 games before Christmas and no team has won the league when doing this, does this mean City's title race is over? what a tosser.

Pellegrini ' They played better than us in the first half and we missed the opportunity to score, their second was an important goal, In the 2nd half we took more risks.

On Sergio Aguero he said' Sergio will need a couple of games before he is back to form but it is important that he is in the side.'

We were the better side first half hour and had DeBruyne taken that chance it would've been a deserved lead, alas he fluffed it and we were then hit with a sucker punch, the second goal was a killer, awful panicked boot out of defence from Mangala who had been excellent up to that point. Second half Arsenal defended brilliantly and really should have made us pay on the counter as we pushed forward looking for a way back in. Happy to see us make a fight of it in the end and with a bit more luck we could've nicked a point.

What a strike that was from Yaya, it's painful to watch him lumbering around the pitch at times but you've got to give to him, he's still capable of moments of sheer class.

Marriner was awful. 16 fouls to 5 tells it's own story. Them Arsenal fans sure know how to shriek.

On a final note, the last time we lost at their place we won the league.

Henry and carragher blame Yaya for City losing the game, 'All he needed was a walking stick and an overcoat'

Two shitheads eating thier own excrement.

Save some for Andre Marriner, he deserves a slice

"Pellegrini was asked because we have lost 5 games before Christmas and no team has won the league when doing this, does this mean City's title race is over? what a tosser."

From the same book of cheap and easy stats which Tayler was using all evening.

I couldn't believe he dragged up one about the last time City came back from 2-0 score line to get a point was when we drew against Liverpool in the year we got relegated in 1996.

Still 21 games to go, did we not win the league when we were 8 points adrift with six games to go.

Credit to Leicester, if we don't win it, I would love it if they do, because Arsenal and their cronies have done there best to stop other teams breaking into the top four, Leicester are ruing football booooo!!!

Just to note that I am appealing the points award for the bonus question in BTC having nailed it for 11 shots on target.

Pure desperation at the need to pull away from the relegation zone in this game is behind this unprecedented manoeuvre. My performance is usually so dire that actually getting anything correct makes me sit up. I take no pleasure in predicting the correct score btw.

I await suitable adjudication in my favour and will be consulting my lawyers pending the decision. That is if they aren't too busy meeting with Sepp and Michel. :68:

I object to your appeal. I have no basis for my objection except I, too, am in relegation trouble and I do not wish you to succeed in your appeal.
