Burnley v NUFC

Imagine paying 40 quid to watch that and then having to get back to newcastle in time for work tomorrow.

Well, let’s hope we’re sold because the lack of quality is evident all over the pitch, work rate will only get you so far. Rafa cost us mind, he’d have been happy with a drab 0-0. Sitting deeper and deeper and refusing to change things until it’s too late, a Pardew special as it’s known. Painful.

Stoke away when Demba Ba got a hat trick the last time we won away on a Monday night. 12 defeats in a row since then.

Got what we deserved nothing.
Too negative and only started playing after we went behind. Should have started 75 mins earlier.
In a false position really because there is a lot of mediocrity in that team, not helped by Rafa playing safe.

There's nowt wrong with the set up of the team, just some of the personnel not being good enough to carry out the task. Ashley not strengthening the obvious positions will cost us away from home but we may get away with it more at St James'

Whether Ashley is here or not in January, we need a decent biggish striker and a keeper minimum to survive although we're still in or around 10th to 16th on the teams ive seen in this league.

We're running out of games that are potential 'sneak 3 points' away from home. Rafa has worked wonders with the players available but some are just not good enough for this league and he knows that, even some of the players he bought because of financial restraint.

All depends what happens in January because aside from Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal away before the window opens, we have games in that category at West Brom, West Ham and Stoke.

The last away game saw us disappointed to come away from a bogey place at Southampton with a draw so it's dangerous to overreact. Surely if there is interest in a takeover then it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that we may see some sort of down payment in order to strengthen the squad.

We're not putting away enough chances, because our forwards - all of them - are squad players at best.

Mitrovic has to be given a chance here, as his determination might make that difference - none of the others get much of a sniff of goal - and they are not by any stretch of the imagination 'natural' finishers, perhaps apart from Gayle.

Perez / Joselu might get us a dozen goals between them, all season. That's a magnitude away from what a strike partnership should be getting.

It's fairly obvious that Rafa doesn't rate Mitrovic and I dare say he doesn't rate Gayle as a week on week premier league striker. It's also fairly obvious that if he was given the funds to spend that he wouldn't have bought Joselu either but he is hardly going to stop playing him.

If he was offered a £30m lump for the three and a takeover was on then I reckon we'd have a new attack come January. As it is, I reckon we'll get at least one decent one as it could be the difference between divisions come May.

You should have a word with your mates in the corridors of power at NUFC Robin! Dont forget to tell them yellow mick said hello. We could be doing with that bus from man city.

That was woeful, piss poor game & apart from the obvious that our striker, number 10, left back & keeper are fkn shit you have to look at Rafa's tactics.
Bringing on Gayle after they'd scored & sat back 20 yds is not part of his game, should've started with him & maybe give Murphy a chance as a number 10.
That we're 9th says more about our defence & the Spaniard's organisation,we're shit at the top end of the pitch.
Let's hope tubby can see this & realise the time to sell is now because without serious investment in January this could get twitchy.

I don't think we can beat anyone away with this current powder puff attack. So dependant on home fixtures till January when hopefully we will strengthen. Should beat Bournemouth for a start but too many missing pieces and the defence will break eventually.
Wingers struggle with crosses and no natural goal scorers at this level. Takeover, if it happens, cannot come quickly enough.

The match was a danger to any low flying aircraft in the vicinity - many times the ball was just booted straight up in the air, let alone the countless mortar-trajectory ones. And it wasn't just Burnley who were doing it, either.

Lastnight several crosses were put into the box from the right side screaming for a strong target man a la mitro... only to fall to Atsu, and with his height if he gets injured soon a few Santa's grottos could put some work his way.
