Budget - 14th/15th

Ialways take this as a pinch of salt! I would not believe directors or Ceos to state there true budgets to rivals would you?

The Club will receive a list (twice a year, I believe - Aug and Jan), which gives a list of budgets in the league but doesn't name the Club with that budget, so you'll know where you stand.

That used to be the case.

Of course I would believe directors and CEOs for one very simple reason: every club has to submit certain accounting information to the EFL to enable solvency and fair play checks to be carried out. The EFL then circulates some of that information to every club. For example, Liam Scully quoted some EFL figures last week surrounding attendances and commercial income (i.e. we are the 35th best-supported club in the EFL but 67th in terms of commercial income).

Didn't realise that, so potentially a promotion on a bottom half bugdet, whilst Chesterfield had the 6th biggest wage bill, and finished bottom of the heap. We really do have an incredible management team.

So come on indulge me, why would we have such a poor budget after such good crowds the previous season and 5500 season tickets sold when we were going to away games where there were what 3500 fans?

A number of points. This relates to the start of the season and I think we all believe that our budget was increased over the last transfer window (Pett, Frecklington and Wilson) Secondly a budget is not an accurate picture of the real issue, value for money for each pound spent/paid to players. The release/retained lists are startling with most clubs appearing to have between ten to fifteen more professionals at the club than Lincoln. They also appear to have to rebuild regularly with the associated agent, signing on and potential resettlement fees. Who really wants us to be financially imprudent and not rejoice in the club spreading earnings over a number of seasons. Finally we do not have sugar Daddy chairman and those at Notts county, Mansfield and FGump Rovers will eventually get fed up of losing millions without associated success or adulation. Not sustainable.

You can only spend 55% of your turnover on wages for a start.

So wouldn't our turnover be a lot higher if we sold more tickets? For the record I'm not moaning (heaven forbid) just curious as to how this thing works, I mean we were battered at Crawley in front of what 2500 fans? I know geographically they can attract better players but in the end money talks.

Not sure what the process is now, but they used to take your mean turnover over a rolling three-year period.

If that's still the case, it'd be a high turnover plus two low ones, which would bring it down. I'm half guessing, with FFP a little more strict now, it's given monitored on a season by season, twice seasonally basis, I don't know.

Crawley also have a money man.

Did you want us to blow the whole lot in one go? That would be crazy.

A lot of our potential player budget would have gone or been reserved for the training ground and building the club back up.

Also remember with ticket revenue that we offer a much bigger concession discount than other teams. That'll boost our gates but not increase revenue as much.

Can you see the irony of complaining about an increase in price with this post about maximising our turnover. Can't see how we can really sell many more tickets but can see how the club have increased revenue by increasing ticket prices, adding more expensive seats in upper block two and reducing amount of subsidised tickets in three blocks to one in high demand/higher ticket price COOP.

I don't expect you to understand this but my beliefs are that we should already have the money in the bank after two of the most successful seasons in living history.
