Bruce, Round, Wyness, Xia who's to blame?

Looks like he was having all the same problems at sunderland and did not know how to fix it so to me Bruce is to blame . So it's not looking good for us. But who do you bring in next we have tried young , old , foreign , experienced, inexperienced and non have worked.

"So if he doesn't "do tactics" and he doesn't coach his team, what the hell does he do?"
Good question MikeyVV
A certain Brian Clough was the same. But he couldn't half motivate them.

But Cloughie was no good without Peter Taylor.

When was the last time we had a player or players who could actually influence and dictate a game?
Something like the role Dennis Mortimer enjoyed doing for use with the help of Des Bremner doing the donkey work

I can't imagine any of the current team being able to even tie up the boot laces of those two yet alone perform like that.

It's strange though that every team we seem to play in this league has someone In the midfield who I've never heard of before and who completely dictates the game against us as our lot just huff and puff and watch as the game passes them by.

I think we have an awful lot of players ( particularly midfielders) who are nowhere near as good as they think they are as they amble and ponce around the pitch waiting for things to happen rather than creating them and they seem more concerned and happy to pick up their silly wages each month under false pretenses than play with some pride for each other as team-mates.

Time for Bruce & Co to get their act together and sort this mess out or be shipped right out of the club themselves ASAP and get some management in who have a plan, don't make it up as they go along and are able to get some shape and pattern of play into this lot.

Who knows, the players might even start to enjoy their football again!?

Karanka for me

Depends if you're looking for good football or not, ask the Boro fans what they think of him, it's almost universally negative now!

One name missing there (although ultimately this would still be Bruce's fault).

Bruce came in. Performances werent great but determination and hard work got him results.

Then, for some unearthly reason he decided to bring back someone into the fold.......Gabby. The guy who was banished from the club for taking the pee out the club and only caring about hos wage packet.

And we got worse and worse and worse.

We then have Saturday and Steve Vruce saying "defeat doesnt hurt as much as it should for some players"

No shit Sherlock !!!!!.

Don't get me wrong. Gabby is not the only one who was crap on Saturday, but you let one rotten apple take the pee and the rest will follow.

Many people on here said "Gabby will see off another manager"

And the weird thing is , Bruce is the only person who either cant see it, or has no power over it.

Clouhhy used to do EVERYTHING

From trying to take on the entire side in five a side to locking people in rooms until they signed to painting the ground

Very wierd choice that

Although his autobiog tells his story best, if you font want to read that just watch The Damned United and it will give you a glimpse of Cloughie

TBH mate I couldn't care less what his footballs like right now it's getting out of this league that bothers me now and he managed to turn Boro round who were an even bigger mess than we was.

Duncan Hamilton's Provided You Don't Kiss Me is my favourite.

It's 100% Bruce. We did alright when he came in, steadied the ship...... then brought in calderwood and we got worse. "Clem" didn't strike me as a particularly good coach either. Watching other teams play they are able to pass the ball to a player in the same jersey as them...a skill villa seem to lack. But we're SO easy too play against. Tactics against us- put players under pressure and don't let them have time on the ball, they'll panic and make mistakes. Villas tactics - give it to kodija and hope for the best. That's down to Bruce. He says he doesn't know how to stop the rot, step aside.

Dunno Gater playing good football and not getting promoted will be better than not getting promoted playing shite. Bit like we are now really.

I know what you mean mate, I'd take winning every game 1-0 and going up every day of the week, it would just be nice to see us build something for once like Southampton, Brighton, Bournemouth etc have.

Karanka was the bloke who bought Gestede and Rhodes then stuck them both on the bench because he never played more than one up front and he preferred somebody else. They never looked like staying up.

Bruce and Calderwood combined is a shambles, we don't look to have a plan, we play the game at a slower pace than the opposition which makes us easy to defend against.

We looked decent under Bruce until he started buying players, we have looked progressively worse ever since.

Our best performance was Brighton away, the next day Calderwood came in and I've never seen us play like that again.

That night we pressured high up the pitch and looked top 6 potential, we look shambolic now if the opposition have any foothold in the game whoever they are.
