Well the bookies have finally looked behind the Steve McClaren curtain at what is actually going on and our title odds are drifting by the day going out from 9/1 to 12/1 in a couple of days while the odds of other clubs are shortening largely because they are actually signing some decent players. It is all smoke and mirrors so far as I can see and surely SM can't be so desperate as to stay much longer?

TS is trying to bluff his way through on the cheap. Very little enthusiasm or even interest on other Millers fans websites for the new season , and downbeat about our signings so far. There's no spine to the squad. Once the smoke clears and the mirrors are removed ... we are probably in for some L2 hammerings, unfortunately.

I’m going to try and cut them some slack and fully reserve judgement on September 1st. Not looking promising so far but we live in ‘ Hope ‘ …..that’s not Hope Derbyshire.

Sensible, Guy. Let's hope there are exciting developments in the next few weeks. On information garnered from various sites we have reduced the wage bill very significantly and have brought in players so far who will not be getting much above L2 average salary (?) and given contracts to promising youngsters who will not have broken the bank.
So (again only my opinion) we are in a position to sign a bit of quality and I'd prioritise a GK, AMF and two or three decent forwards. I just don't see much need or mileage in bringing in players like Vassell. Trials tell you very little about potential over a season as we have seen all too often. My fear is he will perform quite well against Matlock, the club will enthuse and Jimmy Olsen will applaud a star signing. Not for me.
