BRUCE GONE

You make some fair points inside_man but what about Allsop who has gone from strength to strength under a different keeping coach?

Could be down to lack of confidence as well as ability with BPF. He's never busy enough, he has improved but not enough for me. Oh for another Matt Gilks type.

Perhaps. Whether that's a stylistic thing from Banks or a tactical thing from managers (or if you could get shot stoppers who also can do that, they won't be playing in league 1).

When you look at the track record of keepers though:

- Maxwell was arguably the best keeper in League one the year we went up, with most clean sheets.

- Grimmy then came in as a raw youngster, sold for a really good profit after developing with us over 18 months.

- Tyrer came in looking really raw, dodgy first few months but came on really strong and most (appreciate not all) were disappointed he's not back here on a permanent.

- and tbf, BPF has kept some scorelines from being even more embarrassing the last few months after a really ropey start where he clearly had no confidence.
I take your point, but the questions have to be asked, why do we keep taking chances on rookie goalkeepers? Surely this is detrimental to the rest of defence and team as a whole? Are we serious about getting results as a football club or are we just an orphanage for under developed players?

Allsop was on loan with us and left nearly 18 months before Banks joined? Not sure what he’s got to do with anything?

That bit I’m not disagreeing with - but that’s not on Banks!

Bruce told us he was the set piece coach.
We never score from corners should be the signature song for us.
Throw ins free kicks corners we always look vulnerable
