They do have some seriously bizarre laws in the middle east/Gulf states. It's a good job she didn't touch his hip.

I love how they market themselves as a tourist destination but then lock people up for silly things.

I had a business meeting the other day with a guy who had worked in Dubai ten years ago. He said he has some friends who are still in prison in Dubai. They borrowed money to buy houses or cars while they were working there. Once their visa expired, they were transferred onto tourist visas and then arrested because it's illegal for tourists to have debts in Dubai.
