Fair play to anyone going to this meaningless game today.
This was every bit the end of season dead rubber, characterised by two average teams who each did just enough to look like they wanted to win the game, without ever doing anything close to enough to actually win the game. It wasn't half hearted, but it was that standard aimless pre-summer kickabout.
City barely turned up in the first half and it was only wayward Forest finishing that kept us in it.
Which left us with the awkward conclusion - what was this game? If it was not a serious game worth winning, evidenced by taking off Famara and certainly us not going for it, why was it not then an experimental squad game, also evidenced by Eliasson getting nowhere near the pitch.
It was one way traffic for the first quarter of the game, Forest getting in behind our midfield and Tomlin in particular wasting no invitation to twice drive dipping shots in on goal that Fielding had to be secure to hold.
By half time a largely non event for City was remarkable only for the parity of the scores, despite Forest peppering City's goal from all around the box. It was refreshing therefore that after half time City came out with a little more purpose attacking their own fans - but not before Tomlin, and others, again made light work of City's midfielders, to keep firing at the overworked Fielding from between the lines. City were still clearly second best.
In truth Forest had far far more chances and looked marginally more interested in winning a nothing match, with Tomlin at the heart of most they tried.
Pato was poor today - our right side was under so much threat in the 1st half due to his 'lack of interest to battle back and tackle' - not good enough at this level, can be great at times in an attacking sense, but no defensive midfield quality - shame as he can offer so much but only 30% of the time.
Paterson have not been good for a long while.
Patterson been dreadfull for months probably thats why forest got rid.
Ice needed for Lolley.
Were you waiting for that one today?
Tomlin - that tragic breed of player who saves his best performances for games against previous clubs. Even though that list of ex-clubs is growing every season, it still identifies a pathetic lack of effort the rest of time.
Tomlin running us ragged.
Over run in midfield. Tomlin is spraying the all about like a muck spreader. Their left winger in having a party. Shots raining in!
100%
Already whoring himself out on Twitter to the Forest fans. Bigging up Forest and their fans are lapping it up
We got the t-shirt lads...
We can tell you now how it will end.
To be honest, I actually thought Osbourne for them was more productive. Tomlin was being fed by him.
there is an unmistakeable pattern to his career and it's not hard to see what will happen, the forest fans will clamour for him to be signed permanently, he will join them to a big fanfare play well for 6 or 7 games then become the lazy couldn't give a toss player he became here.
Not knocking Tomlin - clearly a very talented player - and I didn’t join in the abuse he was getting either - I just thought Osbourne caused us more problems - when they noticed him and passed to him that is!!!
At least there might be a wine bar or two to smash up come the end of the game.
Mental scenes... we get a corner.
The final whistle goes and Bristol City fans rise as one to their feet to ...................... stretch and yawn.
24 points from the last 23 games.
Failure to win away from home since December 8th coupled with 20 points in the last 21 games.
When City released their ST prices, there was obvious anger at the rise for children's tickets in particular. Now this is were Forest do it right... and wrong...
Many of you on here have taken your own kids since day 1. I've seen actual newborns in the stands at AG. Babes in arms are not charged at all and I believe are welcome in most areas of the ground. Toddlers are also welcome. The new family part in the Upper Lansdown is perfect for youngsters becoming used to the spectacle and farce that is our beloved Bristol City. Now here's where Forest go wrong...
Young Forest babies and toddlers are actually banned from the stadium until they are aged 4 unless otherwise exempt (e.g. in a private box). Personally, I feel that's a bit of a daft decision but that's my opinion.
Do you agree?
And here's where Forest get it right...
So here's their ticket prices for today...
Adults - £25 (£27)
Senior - £20 (£22)
18-23-year-olds - £10 (£10)
Students* - £5 (£5)
16-17-year-olds - £5 (£5)
4-15-year-olds - £1 (£1)
This applies to all seats in the ground except boxes and the bracket prices indicate POTD.
Here's ours for next week...
In the family area (all non member prices):
Adult - £30
OAP and Under 25 - £28
Under 22 - £25
Under 19 - £15
Under 12 - £10
Now obviously ours is a Gold game because it's the last game but still some big differences.
This was also reflected in Forest's STs:
www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2018/february/forest-announce-2018-19-season-card-prices/
Throughout the ground, kids prices are 4-11 years - £10, 12-17 years - £50 and 18-23 years - £100.
We all know City aren't interested in kids tickets as an adult bum on a seat instead of a child's makes more money but it's noteworthy that a team in the same league as us are safeguarding their future fans by encouraging them in at a younger age...
Anyway. On to today...
City win 2-1. Watch Forest whoop us 5-0 now I've said that...
I will leave you with a funny video. This is LadBaby. You may have heard of him but he's a huge Forest fan and will be there today. Say hi if you spot him!
