Brian Moore Stand Permissions

I've been made aware by one of my colleagues on the not606 board that the most recent planning permission that was made to extend the licence for the Brian Moore Stand is about to expire on the 31st May 2018. As you can see from the link https://www.not606.com/threads/brian-moore-stand-temporary-licence.362335/ he's copied some details from the last time this was submitted which shows this was in 2013. In the decision notice letter it states that the extension of the planning permission was to be given for a maximum of five years only with the club to have the intention to replace by the end of the term. Below is the link to said notice and other related documents: https://publicaccess1.medway.gov.uk...s.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=ZZZZPIKNPM543

Now we clearly haven't done that and from trawling through the planning website, there doesn't look like anything new has been submitted to either extend the planning permission on the temporary stand nor replace it with another structure. Now I don't claim to be a planning expert but surely we need something agreed so we can continue use it for its purpose and having been told the club selling season tickets for this stand, this airs some cause for concern.

I would imagine that if nothing else, a full health and safety check will need to be completed as 15 years of opposing fans jumping on and a variety of weather conditions must have taken it's toll on the framework with it being open to the elements? Can anyone help shed any light on this scenario?

I wouldn't get your knickers in too much if a twist if I were you. Firstly you're confusing two issues by talking about the stand's safety. The safety of the stand is a matter for the football licensing authority which is a body which, if I recall right, involves the local council, the club's designated safety officer, and the police. Any structure like this is likely to need either an annual or a bi-annual inspection and recertification. There us nothing to suggest that process has not been continuing. It's not something that is published.

The stand is a temporary structure and consequently can't be granted a permanent permission. You're right that renewal is due, but in planning terms the renewal of a temporary permission is no great shakes. Even if the club missed the deadline it's the sort of thing that's regularly dealt with by retrospective action. It's hardly controversial in that last time the renewal came up there were only two objections. In any event there is nothing obvious at the moment that would prevent the use of the stand next season.

Even if the club misses the deadline to renew, they have until August and our first home match to apply for a new one.
