At the end of the day though it doesn’t matter. They want to take power from the Tories and govern this country. To do that they need votes and to do that they need to appeal to as many people as possible.

Left wing politics just aren’t appealing enough to the voting masses so Labour either becomes more centrist to stay relevant and electable or it becomes irrelevant.

debateable , that ignores the last 5 years of turmoil and i dont think we can, we need to go clearly left to make social change

People will always point the finger away from themselves in the aftermath of defeat. The left of the party were in charge and it was a shit show.
The facts are clear. Cons went up by only 2%; Labour went down by a whopping >20%!
There was no endorsement of Brexit despite historical rewritings, just a kicking for Labour. Polling suggests the leadership was strongly the number one reason for that.

What polling? The poll of half a dozen people that Pope posts on here? THe only thing that changed was Labour going from respecting the result to demanding a PV.

And this is the problem that you knight of the realm faces. People may not necessarily have turned to the Tories but they withdrew their support for Labour after this betrayal
 
Nobody ever believes polls when they show results they don't like. Always a sample size complaint, or similar, showing no understanding of the accuracy of well designed polls .

Some people believe any poll when they show results they like, regardless of the fact that they were conducted by political opponents and with very few (carefully selected or are the Tories honest when it comes to polling?) people.

We've got a fucking buffoon who hasn't got a clue, responsible for loads of extra deaths and Cummingsgate, the establishment/media rounding up on Bozo/Cummings and actually giving Starmer support yet he's still miles behind
 
....don't fucking tell me, he's got to repair 'Corbyn's damage' even though he was the architect of it.
 
I am an outsider i know. But i will treasure that image of Starmer down on one knee. Ive a feeling that we might see it again during the next election campaign

The 'knee' won't be going much longer, the BLM movement have made the mistake of supporting Palestine and criticising the murderous state of Israel
