Brexit and all that shite ....

See this sentence sums up why people like me hold the power over people like you. I would prefer a Tory victory but if it didn't happen deep down I dont give a flying fuck. Will not make a blind bit of difference to me whereas you will go into suicidal meltdown.

See what I mean...that is true power.

Bring it on.
You won’t care because it won’t affect you.

Take a moment to think about those needing to use foodbanks at an increasing rate.
Kids sitting in classrooms tired and hungry because they haven’t slept or eaten.
Think of the zero-hour workers doing 3 jobs to make ends meet. See: I, Daniel Blake.
NHS waiting times at an all time high.
Social services cut.
Local council funding cut.
School fields, sold.

The list goes on and on.

See the difference is that even though it doesn’t directly affect you, these attrocities are happening on your doorstep. Quite frankly it’s disturbing that you don’t care about this and will vote Tory regardless of the fact they have created these conditions with 9 years of austerity.

You can make a difference and vote to stop children starving in our own town/country. You can stop this by voting against it and influencing others.

Yet you choose not to? And mock those that find these things appalling and vote to stop it. Shame on you and shame on your flippancy to such a fundamentally crucial issue.

If you’re just going to reply with some gloating reply of “Ooh look you’re rattled” then don’t bother. Just take a look at what you’re voting for. Watch the latest dispatches on C4 and then tell me that this government care about anyone earning less than 80k.

Isn't only the "feckless" and "layabouts" that spend their days watching daytime TV

I wouldn’t class the elderly as that and they watch a fair bit. However if you think the feckless and layabouts spend their days watching telly then that’s your opinion and one you’re entitled to.

Shit maybe, yet, shit with balls ....... as opposed to your man, who seems to have lost his.

You know, I agree with the the "applauded" ........and the "moron". What a shame he's since lost his balls (as has already been proven).

If you shove your head any deeper in the sand, you'll come up on a beach in Australia !

Why would a hung parliament continue the paralysis? Johnson has tried to make this election all about Brexit. Never has the phrase "Get Brexit done" been spouted so frequently. Just because he may not get the result he wants doesn't mean that he'd be paralysed.

If it turns out that, yet again, he hasn't been able to "get Brexit done", surely he'd have to concede that another referendum would be the only option. Wouldn't he?

He’s got balls, he’s off for an interrogation with Holly. Lucky chap.

Brexit won’t get resolved whilst there are those seeking to to hinder and stop it. A second ref is also very unlikely. Likewise a hung parliament will ensure nothing gets done domestically either. Far better he gets his majority and moves the country forward.

He is being picked on big time....even by certain far right posters on this forum. If it wasn't so vindictive it would almost be funny. Cretins like Schofield showing complete disrespect and misunderstanding of the situation. It reminds me of a child being scolded by his mum for making his younger sibling cry..."go on, say you're sorry or you'll get no tea'...Pathetic with a capital P. Yet Johnson is hardly pressed on anything, despite lying through his back teeth.....total media and newspaper bias. I want Labour to win now more than ever, just to annoy the right wing of the Tory party with their bullying tactics and misinformation.

Cretins like Schofield?! He’s hardly a political commentator, more than he sees this stance taken by Corbyn as abhorrent and was trying to get an apology out of him. Perhaps he needed scolding in this way on this morning of all programs.

In regards wanting labour to win, that’s your right. It would be a catastrophic situation for the country however and sadly our children would be paying for this for the rest of their lives. Without question id rather stay in the EU, regardless of the cost to democracy, than this fella and his poisonous associates running the country.

Where did you copy that from ?... but you're right, I don't care about you or yours or him or his. Where you're wrong is I donate to several charities and probably do more to help fight disease than you do. If Corbyn and his cohorts ever get near to # 10 you will all suffer as industry ups sticks and leaves this country in the shit. He will also grant his mate in Scotland another vote as the price for propping him up. This utopian place you dream about doesn't exist because his form of socialism is doomed to failure. Will I care about that...no. I will still do as I do and mine will be provided for because of a lifetime of toil on the part of me and the wife. 70 hours + , week after week after week. Christmas day after Christmas day spent grafting for what we now have. You probably resent me for what I have achieved ( dont get me wrong I'm no Rockefeller but comfortable) and that is the politics of envy.

Ever watch Gulliver's travels where the horses were in power...that's how I feel about today's society. Animals should stand for parliament and I would happily vote for them.

So you vote for Jezza and when it all comes crashing down with unemployment soaring and all those things you describe come to pass don't come running to the likes of me sobbing because I won't care.

Now excuse me but I have an early start to continue to provide for mine.

........ Likewise a hung parliament will ensure nothing gets done domestically either. ......

Don't you think he'll look a prime chump if that were to happen. Firstly, promising to get us out by 31st October, do or die, come what may ....... then promising (bloody endlessly) to "get Brexit done" ..... and failing ...... both commitments gone up in smoke.

Would he resign? Would he carry on as an even lamer duck? Would he call for another election (that he absolutely doesn't want)?

His little adventure will be in tatters. ............that's presuming of course that he hasn't been ousted in Uxbridge !

The deadlines are dependent on Parliament passing the deal negotiated so are effectively to an extent out of his control. He needs a majority to get it under his control and is why he called for an election.

Ousted in Uxbridge - a reasonable possibility I’d have to agree, postal votes will no doubt be a big influence. However there are already contingency plans in place - an MP in large majority seat will stand down, incentivised by a spot in the Lords, and an immediate by election triggered in which he’d stand. No doubt you’ll say what about honour etc, and I’d agree, but the fact he’d boil a huge amount of piss and would have had the nod from the nation to carry on if he won the general election. They reckon it would be sorted by early January, plenty of time then to leave by the 31st. 😉

I get that, but by the very nature of a GE, (especially one he's trying to focus around a single divisive issue), there is a strong likelihood that a hung parliament may well be the outcome.

A GE was not the vehicle to solve the problem. We both know that (even if you're desperately trying not to admit it. ;)).

As an aside, have you seen Raab boasting about the postal votes received in his constituency .......... seems like someone's been a very naughty boy ........ taking a peek before Santa's been !!!

But surely, the Tory party would need to elect a new leader ........prior to the by election. No? Regardless, how embarrassing.

Surprised you haven't commented on Jezza's fauz pas re the Queen's speech. Daft pillock. Why not just be honest.

If johnson loses his seat and someone fall on his/her sword to get him back in a motion has to be put before the commons, the chief whip moves a writ to start the process, the house then has to vote on the motion and technically could vote against holding a by-election, therefore leaving the seat vacant, would it be in the realms of possibility for gove to stitch johnson up and not let him be elected, after all johnson stitched gove up not long ago.

I disagree Moonay, it was a vehicle to resolve it and the paralysis in regards passing any legislation, brexit related or not. I’m a little sceptical over the polls and suspect it’ll be a little closer than that. That said they are consistent and not much movement so perhaps accurate however I’m not ruling out a hung parliament. Think he’ll secure a small majority however.

Not heard about Raab, but apparently he would be representing him if he lost his seat until he got another. Much to your delight! No need to elect a new leader, I believe there is precedent for this. Embarrassing I agree but they’d front it out.

I’ve heard about him lying about listening to the Queens speech, but haven’t watched it yet. I understand it’s being repeated this evening at half 7 on itv. Will hopefully get little un in bed by then and it enjoy it with a brew!

!

But surely, if the result is another hung parliament, then as a vehicle to resolve the situation, it will have fundamentally failed ..... miserably.

It was what he considered to be his safest bet. That's all.

That would mean a percentage of the population not being represented by an MP so very unlikely. Also would only be possible if he didn’t have a majority. He could appoint himself a Lord and govern from there - be even less scrutiny on him then, no pmq’s etc

If it fails it fails. Still the right decision though, the impasse couldn’t continue. The suspense is almost over. Boris has been relatively controversy and gaffe free so far, has this surprised you? Seems to have left this to Corbyn.

I get the feeling you may hold in Raab in more contempt than than Mogg and Boris 😂

If it fails, it means we've farted about for months for nothing. A second referendum should have been held - with deal, no deal & remain as an option - conducted under PR rules ........and you know it.

As for Boris being gaffe free ......is that the best we can hope for? Our (prospective) future PM didn't make a tit of himself whilst campaigning ? (Still a chicken for not doing Neil).

I've actually warmed to Corbyn - as a person. I watched the Phil and Holly interview, and thought he came across as very caring. Yes, there was the bit where Phil wanted to play Paxman, but Corbyn probably thought "feck you, I'm not going to give you the satisfaction".

Note - I couldn't have seen myself typing that two months ago.

He's a slimeball. I can't see any redeeming feature in him at all. What an absolute turd of a man.

Who the blooming heck watches the queens speech live, highlights on the news, the vast majority of people don't give a fig, same as they celebrate the christian festival of Christmas and haven't set foot in a church voluntarily in years, we have family on Christmas day and the television does not go on until perhaps the evening, I knew the speech was on Christmas day but if pushed could not say a time, big deal
