Italian media are running with the story that Manchester City are being investigated for signing a player that broke UEFA guidelines - could MCFC get a transfer ban this summer?

It is being run in a few papers, City have said that they have done nothing illegal but do concede that the transfer is being looked into.
 
Let's hope this story has no substance.

But on the eve of the arrival of one of Europe's too coaches and the club looking to make significant signings one could be forgiven for feeling ever so slightly paranoid at the timing of this claim.

Very suspicious IMO and has more than a strong smell of another attempt to hamstring the club's ambitions through the hint of impropriety that will hang over City until the situation is clarified.
 
If there was anything in this I'd imagine that the British press would be all over it, as it is Gazetta reported it first and a couple of papers in England reported that they're reporting it.
 
Sounds like the kind of stuff the EUFA power brokers KHR and Gill would be keen to pursue.
