On a whim I attended this match, my first Pools game in over a year. Unfortunately, it only reinforced my reasoning for stopping going in the first place,!
Poor officiating, gamesmanship and little quality to be appreciated.
My view of the sending off, in real time, was that it was a "coming together " worthy of no more than a yellow card. I don't believe the referee had a view of the incident and over reacted to the performance of the Braintree players. Nevertheless, Waterfall was somewhat naive not to have realised how players try to "take advantage "
Those Pools players who fought out a draw in adversity should, rightly, be applauded for their efforts.
