I don't see why Lee Frecklington should be an automatic starter because he is captain. If he is not performing on the pitch surely he shouldn't play. We've already seen at Northampton and Grimsby that there is no room for "passengers". Waterfall certainly wasn't an automatic choice for a long period last season.

I find it very difficult to justify leaving Tom Pett out when he is in such good form.

I also hope we don't see Akinde as the first name on the team sheet just because he is City's most expensive player.

Oh I agree, Freck still hasn’t impressed me yet bar Coventry away last term, Akinde did head off the line too remember on Sat, so vital at both ends of the pitch .... I’d stick with him for the time being.

winners should react well to competition for their place. for instance, i think it has benefitted green - he looks even more highly motivated when he has played so far this season. no reason why the same wouldn't apply to frecklington.
