With the Manchester derby called off on Monday 25 July, four hours before kick-off due to adverse weather and a poor Beijing Birds Nest Stadium playing surface the thing which is on everyone’s mind, is whether Manchester City will be able to play their remaining game in China - Longgang Stadium, Shenzhen against Borussia Dortmund.

Was it a good idea to play a pre-season tournament in China?

Reports coming out of China suggest the pitch is ok, albeit the weather could be a bit dodgy. Here's hoping the game will go ahead, as planned.

These conditions are pretty exceptional, as the monsoon season is April and May, just unlucky.

What worries me now if both games are cancelled, we will still lack that match fitness necessary and I suspect that we may be hunting round to see if we can get a couple of games played before the start of the season, we have one against Arsenal 7th August, but that is not enough.
