Boro.......

HIghlights

Looked at that Boro penalty a few times, ref had bloody good eyesight to see it kicked twice - so did it hit his sliding leg on the way through and becuase of that the penalty was technically voided - never heard of this before or the rule

Good solid win - the Idah injury just hammers home the ludicrousness of playing international games this season (something more than usual!) - absolute nonsense, it’s a shame we can’t stop players going away during these so called “breaks”.

Another tough game on Tuesday - hopefully we can come away with the unbeaten streak in tact before heading into (on paper at least) an easier stretch of games. Promising to be top, when after Tuesday we’d have played most of the top 10

Rupp has injured his hamstring again. This was the same injury that has kept him out before and it seems he has pulled it again so looking like he might miss the game on Tuesday so that will mean McLean will probably come in. I doubt Hugill will be fit for the game. Hanley was also holding his hamstring at the end. We are getting more and more injuries.

Hopefully Cantwell will be fit and can add some depth.

OK - this double kicked (hit his leg after he kicked it) penalty

Law 14 (pertinent points only)

1)The ball is in play when it is kicked and clearly moves.

2)The kicker must not play the ball again until it has touched another player.

Fine

Now this is where it gets interesting

3) The penalty kick is completed when the ball stops moving, goes out of play or the referee stops play for any offence.

So it hit is leg for a second time and the penalty kick is completed, so presumably as it went into the goal a goal kick was given (not sure didnt see the next bit)

BUT

4) If, after the penalty kick has been taken:

a) the kicker touches the ball again before it has touched another player:

b) an indirect free kick (or direct free kick for a handball offence) is awarded

Now, firstly in 3) the penalty kick is completed but he stuffed it, but in 4 B) via 4) a) an indirect free kick is awarded - but it doesnt say to who. Mmmm- which way? - presumably in our case it was City indirect FK which I dont know if that is what happened.

MOTD2 last night.
Fulham player did the same but missed anyway.
If it had gone in we may have had 20 minutes scrutiny on it.

Ive never known a side to get so many injuries consistently, always in pre season too a main player or two would get a long term injury aswell
