SO is it true that Sol Campbell is to run for mayor of london?

Sol Campbell thinks he should be a PL manager, the England manager, (according to him the FA should have employed him as he has almost done his badges) he also believes he should have been England captain, he is demanding that he has more to offer than other TV pundits, and now wants to be mayor of London - his ego knows no bounds, but inside the conservative party he's being heavily backed - they want to try and secure the black and immigrant vote.

Shame he still sounds like a squawky young kid.

I can't think of a better example of how far politics as a profession has fallen.

Absolutely abysmal.

we need some basic reforms of our Parliamentary system and our system of local democracy/accountability - but those that understand this and are in politics are too timid in their demands and simply don't have the smarts to defeat the vested interests....

Of course, the apathy (at least in the UK) of the electorate doesn't help either - the really sad thing is so few who do vote understand the ramifications of parties policies....

The conservative pledge to bring immigration down to 10's of thousands is in tatters...close to 300,000 immigrated here last year - and the trend is now firmly up, and there is absolutely NOTHING we can do about it....the issues that it's causing in the SE is absolutely public service breaking...a backlash is coming and when it does it will have all the great and the good wringing their hands ...

One clown out one clown in...

Boris for all his eccentricity has been an outstanding Mayor - he's always put London first, not his political persuasion.

That's a very rare thing these days.

Johnson , spursex - he put London first ? Come on - since when?

Sol Campbell has mental health issues so I will not laugh. Re Boris shit on a stick would be an upgrade.

He does, seriously? I thought that was all a thing of the past?

Boris was a huge upgrade on Red Ken, so we shouldn't be closed minded to another upgrade coming along.

I'm told that he has a few issues EX but don't we all. Oh and no surprise that we disagree on Boris having done a better job for your average Londoner than Ken. Business certainly your average Londoner....nah not having not for me.

LOL! Agreed :10:

At the end of the day when Boris goes he'll set the backdrop for who follows and that may well be the final definition of how well/how poorly he did.

He has done very well off the large scale infrastructure projects that Livingstone initiate most of his own haven't got off the ground and have been a bit Meh. The garden bridge, the cable car....yep making a real difference.

LOL!

Execution is always the difficult part, imagining spending someone else's money is always easy...

besides, Boris bikes are/were of course all that matters...genius on two wheels.. :10: :21: :17:
