Bony Blossoms At Swansea - Crashes At City

Vital Football Legend
For nearly two years Wilfried Bony was loved and adored by the Swansea City faithful, however, 18-months later pundits and fans agree that his career appears to be in total tatters. So what happened?

In July 2013 Swansea City paid Vitesse £12million and in doing so signed Wilfried on a four-year contract. He made 43 league appearances, bagging 25 goals. To put it simplistically the Ivory Coast international became an overnight Swansea sensation.

Pep Guardiola is coming to the Etihad and he will have looked at the squad he’ll be inheriting in the summer. Will Bony be one of several current first team players shown the door? You bet your ass he will.

because they played to Bony's strengths, not the first time we have had players lose their way at City because we don't play to their strengths.

The malaria and injuries played a part too.

To back up your point Buzz, Bony's best game for us came against Bournemouth when he was partnered up front with Sterling, they struck up a great understanding and all 5 of our goals that day came from the pair of them. For some reason Pellegrini never played that combo again, baffling. He also worked well with Kelechi on a couple of occasions.

He never struck up any chemistry with Aguero but there again Negredo aside for a few months, I've never seen anyone strike up a proper strike partnership with Aguero.

I was well pissed off when the Beast left, i think he would have been a great player for us, shame we will never know.
