Bomb at Brussels Airport

Not a nice start to the day for those unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time at Brussels Airport this morning.
Reports are saying "up to 10 dead".
RIP to those innocent people who have lost their lives pointlessly and feelings of sadness for their loved ones.

Now, I wonder exactly who or what is responsible for these latest atrocities in Brussels this morning?

My heart goes out to those both murdered and seriously injured today.

I expect the UK has been targeted and plots foiled, as happened on quite a few occasions when the big threat was Al-Qaida. The UK is by no means immune to attack but does have considerably more experience in addressing terrorism than most European countries and an extremely well developed and sophisticated intelligence gathering and analysis network. Let's just hope and pray it continues to work and protect in the way it's intended.

Awful situation and this just has to stop get a coalition force together and get into Raqqa asap and exterminate daesh don't even let them surrender and anyone who is connected to them or have been down loadng daesh propaganda lock them up without trial. The likes of Anjem Choudry who openly embrace and support daesh lock them up without trial then see the pigs squeal.

Terrible.

You can't help feeling that it's only a matter of time before the U.K are targetted.

And it's not just about airports.
We were in Euston Station yesterday morning with, literally, thousands of other people passing through in the fifty minutes or so we were there, whether on foot, taking a bus, train or tube.
New Street, Manchester Piccadilly (and quite a few other train stations in the UK) are also thronged with passengers for several hours every week day.
It's remarkable that, apart from the 7th July bombings, there has (so far) not been more carnage inflicted on the UK travelling public.
Hats off to those who are working their socks off to keep us as safe as they can.
These are VERY troubled times.

Sadly this has become normal instead of shocking. Can't be long until we get hit now, just hope it's not a Mumbai or Paris type of situation.

It pisses me off because no World Leader or Government has the gumption to take the extreme measures required to stop it.

And people wonder why Trump gets the votes he gets.

If the current crop of World Leaders cannot protect the people, then we are going to get more and more guys like Trump running the World.

Im afraid Gator that would just act as recruiting sergeant for the terrorists. The way to defeat this is to show how we can rise above it without resorting to the same level as them.

Interestingly I was listening to a group of Irish academics talking about the Irish Easter uprising in 1916. The British executed 16 leaders, and set free hundreds of others when the rebellion was stopped. Now according to these academics for the times of the day, considering the World War and the rebellion being an act of treason, to execute 16 was very lenient. However it is not seen that way through modern eyes, where these executions were used to further the cause.

I guess what Im saying is we need to be careful and use the rule of law to deal with these people, and not give in to temptation to over react. That is exactly what the terrorists want.

But we have tried the legal way the tea and sympathy being more lenient and bending over backwards to accommodate the Muslim community and with varying success but these people are just not open to debate or reason. These attacks are not reprisals for past wars or wrong doings they are a direct attack on the Western lifestyle we now have vigilante extreme Muslims patrolling certain areas trying to disrupt our way of life taking headsets off people telling women to cover up that sort of behaviour just can't be reasoned with. How many more innocent victims must die we need to take the whole organisation down cut off their revenue channels and take away their human rights.

I think the UK is inherently safer as it is an island and had many years of trying to deal with terrorists. I have travelled through that airport maybe 50 times in the last 12 months. We have had many kind messages today thank you
