Bolton V Villa, Sat 17th March, 17.30 ( Sky TV )

Anything that could go wrong did last night so no point in starting a new match thread in a negative tone.

Time to dust ourselves down and get stuck into Bolton because believe me, they are a physical team and will be under instructions to kick anything that moves in a Villa shirt.

Let this be the start of another winning streak please you Villa boys!?

Thoughts and predictions here folks.

Up The Villa.

If the same tired players as were on the pitch against QPR are picked, one would imagine they would be even more tired, so a loss would be on the cards. If however, a few changes are made in critical area's, the team could be rejuvenated, leading to a win.

I'd pick the same team personally.

4 days rest should be more than enough. if you ca't play Tuesday/Saturday evening then you really shouldn't be a professional footballer.

I think you are right . Deano.

Mental tiredness probably had as much to do with last nights display as physical.

A couple of days to freshen up , and we will be good to go by Saturday.

Also we are taking 4,800 fans and I guarantee that support will be better than last night , and is bound to inspire the players.

Booing at half time FFS. That drove me mad.

Can't wait for the trip up to Bolton on Saturday. Glad we have a game so quickly after a disappointing result & a chance to make it a distant memory.

Frustrating night vs QPR, but, that's also the great thing about this league, anyone can beat anyone, so same applies to Wolves, Cardiff & Fulham. Expect the unexpected!!!

There are till 27 points to play for, if the League winners average around 90 points historically, that's 33% of their total still up for grabs.

Stay calm everyone, continue the support & let's see where it takes us.

Ultimately, it's still in our hands, so if we don't go up, we only have ourselves to blame.

Let's make the Macron a cauldron of noisy support, above all else, enjoy the ride, far more fun than the predictable money league.

With the experience in our squad, I'd hope they would all be giving each other a kick up the backside today and be well up to make amends on Saturday. We probably need 7 wins from the last 9 games and hope Cardiff start to feel the pressure as the end gets closer - if they keep on winning, then fair play to them, they deserve to go up. Seem to remember Bolton putting 10 men behind the ball and trying to kick anything claret & blue when they came to VP. Scrappy 1 or 2-0 win for me.

Mental tiredness after bashing Wolves? A result like that should have had the adrenalin in full flow.

They were physically knackered. It was actually more physically tiring than it would have been against a more physical side.

Barney should have played instead of Jedinak, and he should play in this match.

The lads will turn up on Saturday now that last night's out of the system.
Agree with sirdennis about the booing. Very disappointing.

Any good team worth their walt would want to put last night right.

There can only be one result acceptable, and to be honest, usually I would say "the result is all that matters" but in this case, I don;t think that is true.

The team owes us a performance, and I expect to get one.

Bolton 0 Villa 4

I will accept any type of win, of course I will, and sometimes (like Bayern Munich v us) you can totally dominate from start to finish and it just not go right, but I expect us to go at their throats from the first second to the last on Saturday. If we do, the above result should happen.

If you can't play that = what the hell is the point of going for the play offs !!!

Could be said that QPR was the old Villa lovable (?) gesture of giving failing teams a helping hand. Except that QPR helped themselves. Whatever, hope we don't extend the hand to Bolton.

We ought to win. We have the players to do it comfortably. But if Bruce continues with this cautious play-the-same-team-again approach, then we hand Bolton a lifeline; we lost the midfield against QPR and we'll lose it again against Bolton.

Not confident at all. Play the same team and if Bolton don't up their game we could win, but equally they could go for it and we could lose. We should beat them comfortably and that means playing the right players set up in the right way.

Two away wins this Saturday - one at the Macron Stadium and the other at Twickenham.

I'll get my coat.

As bigger test as any we have had this season given what happened last night.
Was the doom of last night justified or not?. We will know by 19:30 on saturday.
