BLADES v Bristol City at BDBL

Lets face it, if we ca,nt beat the shower from Swillsboro then we do,nt deserve to go up. Just the thought of hearing the wankers gobbing off inspires me to knock f..k out of the heavy bag. No wonder the wife is f..king off on Sunday to go out for lunch with our eldest daughter and if the tragedy happens she won,t come back for a month to give me time to cool down!

All is not well. I cant tell you what it is, but something isn't right.
It might just be the pressure but it’s the same for other clubs. And pressure doesn’t explain how we set up, why our players look drained and why Brooks has been selected every game but one since January but is kept on the bench when we’ve been crying out for an attacking outlet down the right. Wilder looks edgy in his interviews and so the players do in the games. If anybody questions whether or not we did set up defensively, Robinson didn’t take one long throw all night, he barely ventured past the 18 yard line, neither did Holding, and Choudry just sat a few yards in front of them almost like a third centre back.

It’s hard to figure out TT. I posted before the game that I hoped we didn’t try to ride it out as with Preston as we could pay for it and we did, but it’s not just that. Like FKB says something doesn’t seem right even though the league table says otherwise. Whenever we did push on last night we looked like we could score but it was in fits and starts. We played exactly like we did when we were at their ground…unless that’s the plan? To play the same way home and away. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Hope you and Mrs TT are having a good un bud. 👍 ⚔️
Had a great time GB, got back last night so thought the game would be a good end to our trip but not to be.

Wilder seems very subdued-pressure from new owners who might be expecting more from him than the Prince-and we know he gets churlish under any criticism?
He should be revelling in exceeding everyones expectations but he's the exact opposite from what I've seen.
Maybe, as Winnipeg says , he's regretting his over celebrating after the last derby and wondering where he has to go go if the worst happens on Sunday.Maybe he knows we've been getting aay with it for much of the season and anti climax is on the cards?
He's been well backed by the new owners but I doubt they'll be that forgiving, particularly after where we were when they took over, if we don't go up?

I don’t really think he can be getting aways away with it with 77 (+2) points onboard after 37 games, the results are outstanding even if a lot of the performances haven’t been. They say the tables don’t lie after 10 games so they sure as hell don’t after nearly 40. It’s just a feeling that with the players we’ve got we could have done it with a bit more panache mate. We should be putting teams to the sword, we’ve won more games than any team in the division, and yet our goal difference confirms we’ve only scraped through most of them and that’s got to be down to managerial instructions even though he’d have us believe otherwise. We play in bursts, we get teams on the ropes and then back off. I think that’s because holding onto what we’ve got was worked against the lesser teams, but against the likes of Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland and yes Bristol it was always going to be a hard ask especially without Souttar.
I think we’ve got more than enough to do the piggy ********, I just hope that after the last few downbeat performances and his own demure that he and more importantly the players do. We need another bouncing day performance when let’s not forget the Chris of old’s team with all sorts injury problems tore the ***** a new one! ⚔️⚔️

Fact is - this is how it is under Wilder. We obviously support the team and hope we go up, but progress is limited.

Otherwise, we take the hit, get a new manager in with a more forward thinking approach - and accept that it will take a season or two to bed in.

Honestly, right now I prefer Option 2 - rightly or wrongly - because we've been there before. Prove me wrong Wilder.

The table doesn't lie, I agree, but those 77 points could well be 20 or so fewer looking at some of the performances and then we would be shaking our heads even more.

It seems wrong to complain about performance/style/attitude/approach when 23 teams would happily swap places with us but , as so many allude to, there's something not quite right about the way it's happening but I'm sure well all be delighted if............................

There's no point in worrying about HOW we'll get on if we go up - there's never a bad time to be promoted - and no point saying that building a better team over a couple of seasons will make any difference if/when such a team should go up as there are no guarantees it will happen.

Just get the job done Sunday- maybe, as you say, it's the glass half empty half of Sheffield's way to cope with success!!

I have no time for Mardy Wilder. He needs to get the players up for Sunday and act like we are second. He has the tools so there is no excuse.

I think some of our fanbase should be careful what they wish for re; Wilder, yes we aint played wonderful free flowin football but we are still in with a fightin chance of promotion and promotion is what our needs, make no mistake abouth that.UTB

That was just a monumental missed opportunity wasn't it.

It was what we've been waiting for, yet 2 minutes after the Burnley final whistle goes and they drop 2 points, we go and do the same and let them off the hook. What a great boost for them that must have been.

Again, the blame falls on Wilder.

No other top end side would have allowed Bristol 23 shots at home. Simple as that.

Yet we were top of the league. It's so bizarre. It's an embarrassment to the Championship.

I know what I wish for Rod - and that's not Wilder. But it doesn't stop me supporting the team as I always will.

One possible positive is that Burnley will be without their best defender Egan-Riley for the next 3 games.

If the Blades can,t beat the shower of shite from Swillsboro then we,re wasting our f..king time dreaming of the Premiership!

Good news bookies have them down as favourites Sunday not sure how as they have the 2nd worse home record and we have the best away but I’m not going to argue I always prefer being the underdog
