Big push to get Rose...?

Spursex

Alert Team
I'm told by an agent friend that both ManC and Manure are going all out in the summer to get Danny...

No idea if this will turn his head, but both clubs would almost certainly happily pay £40-50 mill for him (such is the mad mad money for English players now).

Would we take the money? Perhaps get Shaw instead (Poch thought he was going to be one of the best LB's - ever).

Or will we follow our interest up in Leeds Charlie Taylor - who has looked more and more impressive as the season had gone on and might well be a real snip in the summer as his deal ends in June (so probably why so many PL clubs are being linked with him)...

£50 mill may well turn heads at Spurs - would you sell and would you go for Charlie Taylor or Manures Shaw?

I really Rate Shaw, I think he is class - it has not worked out at united - but that does not mean he isnt a good player.

People mention his injuries, but they have mainly been bad tackles - Rose likes to break down as well...

Ideally we would have him and Rose.

No I wouldn't sell, sends out the wrong message to the rest of the squad.

One going could lead to the dam bursting, how much is too much to turn down for Kane, Deli, Toby, Dier or Walker after they've seen Rose probably double his money at a bigger club ?

Having said that Davies & Taylor are the same ago and Davies has more experience in the league and is proven so if Davies is happy to stay I'd keep it as it is. Is Taylor more of an attacker? Can't say I know much about him

I like Davies, don't get me wrong, but he isn't suited to the way we play and we lose a lot of offensive abilities when Rose is injured.

Luckily, on the right side we have Trippier as backup, and while not as fast as Walker he still has good pace and his passing/crossing is better.

If we find a good player that can give us similar qualities in the summer I think we should replace Davies.

But hands off Rose.

So glad we have all of our best players tied to long term contracts. There is an inevitability that bids will come in over the summer and there is no major tournament as a distraction. It will therefore be a long window. We simply have to get Champs League in the next month and keep them.

Must admit, I'm a fan of Luke Shaw but have never seen him take his game to the next level like Rose has. We've all seen Rose unplayable this season because he doesn't even stay in his own position. He makes runs at angles that other wing backs don't even try and pulls teams apart. If we sold him we'd be losing that surprise element that he brings and it would take time for another left wing back to learn those things Poch has taught him.

My only concern is that money talks in football. It's also a no brainer to me that we should take a risk on Sessegnon before another club snaps him up. He's now getting to that age where someone like Shaw first made his debut under Poch at Southampton.

he's excellent defensively, seems to have top class football intelligence about his play and can get up and down - not quite as quick as walker (who is?!) , but of that ilk..

I'd sell Davies to get him in as I think he's going to be a future England left back given his current progress and would really push Rose and may even allow us to eventually sell Rose for mad money perhaps in a season or two..

I guess it will come down to how badly one of these clubs want him and how far there prepared to go to unsettle him - ManC/Manure could easily double his new deal salary and so he'd be looking at between £150-180k p.w. - that's a serious money...

And also let's not kid ourselves, £50 mill on the table for him will test Levy to the limit... :10:

Danny Rose must stay at least another year. And then off to Sunny Spain if he must leave.

I don't think that Levy will sell to our direct rivals.

His injuries worry me and he has errors in him. I like watching him play but 50 mil would be tempting. I quite like Davies, he is younger than Rose, seems to be more durable and versatile too. He like most players benefits a decent run in the side. Which is why the rotation last season made sense.

Interesting that no one has mentioned Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham, I keep Rose for at least the next two season änd bring this lad in.

A few on here were talking about Sessegnon a few months back. Then he signed a new deal at Fulham.

I would take 50m for Rose. He is good but he is replaceable.

He is ridiculously entertaining to watch. In fact he makes it MORE fun to watch Spurs.

I wouldn't sell him until we have a real flair player.

Shaw has a bad reputation now, dating back to Poch at Southampton. All his managers have said he doesn't do nearly enough work on the training ground.

I must have missed that, what other managers have criticised him?

Anyway, after last night, I had a little bit of a vent about Shaw; I'd happily take him if we can sell on Davies and pay a fraction of what Manure paid for him because if Mourinho keeps slagging him off the way he is, they'll have to give him away with a season ticket!

To sell Rose at a time when we are challenging for silverware would be to put it rather mildly quite ridiculous. Only if we have sufficient cover & only when it's in our best interest to do so should we consider any offer tabled for the lad.

Precisely.
