Just wondered what your fave cheese was, mine is Cathedral City Medium or Mild, proper stuff none of this fake crap, what's your fave real cheese? :69:

Mine is a nice mature cheese. It's made quite local from here, but I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.... will it is 6.45am, I've only been awake about 20 minutes...Lol

I can't wait until Fear and Trekker see this thread :3:

I love a nice mature cheddar, of the homogenised factory products Cathedral City and Davidstow are probably the best but you can't beat a bit of proper cheddar bought from and produced in Cheddar Gorge by local producers - I struggle a bit with the really mature ones like this, they can be too strong even for me who loves mature cheddar.

Other than cheddar, I do like a bit of Wensleydale, White Stilton, good feta in a salad and some of teh Dutch cheeses are lovely but get a bit samey when you eat too much of them. Just to keep the French happy, Brie and Camembert are quite pleasant too.

The one type of cheese that I've never got on with are the blue cheeses, never found one that I like at all, in fact I've given up trying them.

I am curious as to what fake cheese is supposed to be, do you mean the soft yellow stuff that they put on burgers that they sell in many countries as Cheddar?

Clive this is taking life into your own hands with JF hatred of all things cheese, and then trekker will join in.

Just say cheese for the camera :15:

Me I like Irish cheese. Providing it isn't that plastic stuff they use in burgers I am reasonable O.K with any cheese, though not into the smelly socks blue cheeses type

I don't know, but if he has, I hope he got some cheese with him!.....

Water will be turned to wine, but who brings the crackers?.....

:17:

lol at Cathedral City. Mass produced crap.

If we're talking cheddar it's gotta be a nice 3 year aged Canadian vintage from the deli counter at Asda.

Away from cheddar, love Hereford Hop, Roquefort and Brie.

Clive is dancing with the devil.

Spoilt for choice over here.

My favourite hard one is a Fruite Comte. Also like Le Pie D'Anglois softer one, hint of honey. With rough oat cakes of course.

I remember many years ago when the cheeseboard on British Rail offered only processed Cheddar.

I love cheese. The smellier, the better. I mild cheddar and that just doesn't float my boat. Living in Malaysia is a bit of a disadvantage in that regard.

Only really eat cheese at Christmas, can't beat cheese, crackers and a glass of port whilst watching crappy TV.

I don't see the point in mild cheese. Cheese should be strong and smelly, otherwise what's the point?

Agree with Skeggy though, xmas night with a glass of port, some nice cheeses, gherkins etc..

I love mature cheese.
There are so many different ways to have it.On a sarny or on toast or on crackers, sliced, melted or grated.
Cheese and pickle or tomato or cheese and salad.
There`s a stall in the market in town that sells all sorts and you can taste it before you buy it.
