Best away days for a day out?

So, with work I travel a lot and get to see places both good and bad. Currently sat in Southampton city centre and whilst there’s some alright bits they’ve made a mess by building shit tower blocks adjacent to historic sites. But it’s a nice football ground. Recently also went to Bradford, south London, Chester and Norwich. I think you’ll guess which one was shit. But sometimes there’s a great atmosphere anyway….

Southampton and do the ferry to Isle of Wight for the weekend

Ipswich and Great Yarmouth

Newcastle and Whitley Bay

All spring to mind

(All weekends away though)

I really enjoyed a day out at Cheltenham once upon a time

Plymouth was great as well.

Not much beats Newcastle
Except Forest around the Christmas period.
I actually really enjoy Newcastle as a city. Used to go to a lot of club nights there in the early 2000s. Long fecking train ride though.

You can’t beat a weekend at Stockton on Tees, Billingham then Hartlepool, followed by a visit to the seaside at Seaton Carew.

Newcastle on Boxing Day last years was pretty good!

Randomly, really enjoyed Bristol City away - stayed for weekend after the Friday game & really nice place.

Always enjoyed Blackpool away too!

Good luck getting an away ticket.
