Been looking at which Tablet type device to buy my 4 year old cos he already keeps taking over the iphone 4s and playing the games etc on it so wondered if there is any recomendations from yourselves, so far i have reqad up on the Kindle Fire, Nabi2 and Kurio, but i am not sure how much apps and what good ones me lad would be able to access, Any feedback would be appreciated dudes :14:

The Tesco Hudl 2 has just been launched, and is superb. It's only £129, or cheaper with Clubcard deals. In addition they have really gone to town on the stuff for kids, with loads of added safety features and the ability to set times when it can be used.

It comes in some nice colours as well!!!

You can also get some decent deals for "regular" 7" tablets now. I've recently seen Asus and Lenovo 7" tablets for as little as £50. Ok, so not state of the art but for a 4 year old, more than enough. The only issue is that they are not protected in any way, some kids tablets come built into a brightly coloured cover that offers protection from dropping and even spills.

I have the same problem with our five year old she is always hogging my ipad. I've looked at the hudi2 as something Santa might bring her or he might ring me a new iPad air lol

Cheers lads, these kids today seem to know how to work things it took me bloody ages to work out, the Hudl, is a real contender for me currently, just been told about a new one called a ''NABi2'' it's an android 7'' and supposed to have the fastest processor out of the tablets same as iPad i believe, usually £150plus going on Ebay from the Argos store as refurbished for £44?? I may take a look at this.

That Nabi2 looks OK Clive, especially at that price. It now has access to the Play Store, to the full range of apps is available.

The only downside is that it is only available in a US version, so the keyboard, currency, units will all be US. Not a major difference, but it might confuse the kids using a US keyboard?

Anyway, either one out of this or the Hudl looks good.

Cheers Heath dude, that was a good pointer about the keyboard but the Nabi2 has just arrived and it is a uk QWERTY keyboard will put up some pics in a min and for £44.99 with a year's waarnety and all accessories charger usb software disc etc and it has £125 of stuff already on there, 25 games 50 songs 30 books peppa pig etc and more, the speed of the device loading the internet browser and sites is phenominal better than my laptop :3: defo a bargain was between that huddle in the end but the Mrs was swept by the Nabi2 i think

I'm so pleased Clive. You read reviews, but real World experience is better. Just check a couple of things on the keyboard - the @ is above the ', near the right hand side, and the " is above the 2.

I had a US keyboard at work for a while, and they are small discrepancies, but they caused me problems all the time. It is unbelievable how automated you become.

Arrr i see what you mean Heath dude, i think the Nabi2 will be alright for now but will defo look at this hudl and Nexus you all mention next year so the youngest can have the Nabi and eldest the new one, i wouldn't trust Charlie with a large tablet just yet the little bugger is going through his bash and throw phase so i got him an Innotab from VTECH lol less to break.

Well our lad's Nabi 2 didn't last long the screen is faulty now so being sent back but they have no more in stock so only a refund ffs, my lad is going to be upset,,,we have decided to scrap getting a new Nabi so am looking at your lots reviews on the android tablets,

Kindle Fire, Nexus, Tesco Hudl 2, we need one that plays games on Google Play and Amazon app's though

Cheers VOTN dude wasn't sure tbh cos the NABi2 didn't play google play apps at first. at least now you have given me more choice to pick from without worrying some won't play GooglePlay where all the kids best games am,,,,,,so many choices
