Ben o

It will be interesting to see how Sheffield Utd use him, I don't think he has enough goals or assists in him to be an attacking LW in our league let alone the Premier but might do better in other positions. He rarely had a bad game and always gave 100% whatever position he played, time will tell how much we miss him. Hopefully we will have better players at both LW and LB this season but who knows!

Frustratingly sideways and backwards at times but always seemed to miss him when he wasn’t playing. Good luck Ben

There is always the thought that this may actually help, having suce a versatile player may have meant our managers have not strengthened in certain positions (LB, LWB, LW, CM, ACM) because a versatile player can 'fill in' when necessery.

Maybe now we'll get two specialised players in each postion rather than making do.

I never boxed but my brother was a half decent amateur so I used to spar with him.
I didn't like getting hit . Always bloodied my nose. That made me angry and i"d be windmilling to little effect.
Maybe I'll stick to chocolate limes at 10 paces.
Was kindly volunteered by section cpl in basic training for inter company boxing...hardest sport I’ve done..would never do it again in a million years

Funnily enough my brother ended up boxing for the army and was boxing coach for the Coldstream Guards , no wonder he used to punch the shit out of me .
I'm so likeable as well . How could he do it ?:grinning:

So was I, was beaten mercilessly every time I got in the ring, my head hasn't right since, point was I was only 7 stone in wet clothes, he must have seen something in me but for the life of me I can't think of what it was. Oh well nil disperandon and all that......

But you told us all a while back that you was a frequent Tram user, it was your preferred method for collecting your pension.

This now raises two questions:

1. Do you have your own personal Tram?

2. Why dont you have your pension paid into your bank account like a lot of other pensioners do?
I don't think you paid attention did you? I said I use the bus a lot because its free and i didn't want to risk getting the Merc scratched. Its now nearly three years old so I'm not so bothered now. You can bet I will be just as careful when it gets replaced in September though. Fetch my pension? Fuck that it goes straight into the bank mate.

A foreign striker who has performed well in a lesser foreign league, barely every gets a game for us and gets sold at a profit?

And ties our money up for a year in the process (plus I'm still sceptical about the profit anyway)?

It'd be nice if this year we spent the money on a player who we'll actually get some benefit from, rather than bank it.

I suspect he'll do alright, if he's got players around him making better runs and space for him to find I believe he's got the ability to spot and execute a pass.

He doesn't always succeed, but when he's playing well in a fluid team, he always tries to play the ball in a way it gives the recieving player options without having to check their run, take a few touches to move it on etc.

I don't think he'll ever tear up the Prem but certainly enough about him to be a yo-yo player with maybe a sustained run at mid Premiership if he finds a Burnley type club on the up.
