Barry Bannan

Plus I don't think that they will be expecting him to play full games, or keep him on the pitch until he breaks down... unlike...

Some older players like Woody, have been ok for us. He's been about the only one for a VERY long time though. Thanks a lot, Mr. Doingawonderfuljob!

I couldn’t care less about how old a player is as long as they are still physically able to do a good job. Unfortunately we have been incredibly good at signing players whose legs have gone or who spend more time in the treatment room than on the pitch or both. I don’t like to give Bannan any credit, but even last season he played pretty much every game before he moved to Millwall and was still their best player.

I wouldn't really want to see him in Millers shirt. OK , he's done quite well in some games against us, mainly because nobody was marking him. The Millers fans would be straight on his back if he made a mistake or got injured. Despite the myths, the same often happens at Hillsboro'. He's not missed a full season through injury, or had a life-threatening illness though , so that puts him ahead of some of our previous "top signings".

Also, in addition, because of our previous transfer deals, just about any forward in their mid-to-late thirties who never scores, is being linked with us by the media at the moment.
