Barnsley away Sat 9th March

This is our last comparatively local away game of the season and should see well over 2000 Imps head to Oakwell. There should be a great atmosphere and it is a great venue for away supporters.

I have put this up early as there is a direct train from Lincoln to Barnsley which takes circa 1 hour 45 minutes and it may be cheaper to buy tickets now. It is only a ten minute walk to the ground from the station. By car it takes circa 1 hour 20 minutes and in the past there has been allocated visitors coach and car parking within two minutes of the ground.

Their visitor guide is excellent:

Derby welcome the Imps in a 3.00pm kick-off, apparently our initial allocation is for 1500 tickets.

What is parking like around the ground. Deciding if to Drive or Bus.
 
Just on the subject of away days in March, be aware that the game at Oxford on 23rd coincides with the next international weekend - with Oxford having five current internationals, it is highly likely to be postponed.
 
Ticket purchased .I went last year but never got the chance to really explore the local Pubs .A look on the Pub guide for Barnsley is very encouraging :guiness:

Joseph Brammer is the Spoons. Straight out of the station and along Eldon Street. It's a small entrance but a big pub.
There's a small arcade to your right about half way along the street with a few micro pubs too.
Plenty of pubs to go at but these are where I would be going for a pint from work.

I was in Barnsley at the weekend, when Derby visited, and the Joseph Bramah was designated home fans only. Don't know if that's a regular thing, but I concur that it's huge.

. There's the Jolly Sailor brewery tap in the Arcade. The Old No 7, the Acorn Brewery pub, slightly uphill from the Joseph Bramah, was also full of locals.

The old no 7 looks decent.Some other good micro bars too.Looking forward to the day .
 
We’re off too. New ground for me so really looking forward to it . Gonna be a tough un 😃
