Barnsley (a): Score Predictions, Starting XI & Match Thread

ive been around football for many decades , like others on here , and have never really taken much notice to "pre season friendlies" , infact its been many years since i have been to one . ok , it gives players a run out , get to know new team mates etc etc etc . wholesale changes throughout the game etc etc . to me the first six games may i repeat may go someway to seeing the the team will havw a good season . i dont think one can gain antthing from friendles , imo of course lol
Of course, they are generally meaningless matches.

However, looking in from outside, it seems to me that there is some dismay that Shaw and Cohen, supposedly the tactical brains behind Skubala and appointed to provide continuity, have torn up the established game plan in favour of something that isn't very clear.

Looking at the first 6 games,
Middlesbrough (a),
Portsmouth (H)
Bolton (a)
Blackburn (H)
Southampton (H)
Bristol City (a)
what do you think the managers targets are in order to avoid relegation?
I think the target will be LWDWDL which is a reasonable 8 points and i will be feeling better.

Could get 18 . Could end up with 0 . Impossible to say as squads could still change . I think somewhere between 5 and 8 could be a start . Then again could be ........... who knows 🤷‍♂️

Far to early to make any judgements on new managers . Time will tell ...........maybe they will answer their critics in a positive way ...maybe they won't. As a great player once said " it's a funny old game" . Staving of relegation will be a good season
