Barnsley (a): Score Predictions, Starting XI & Match Thread

A lot to unpack with this pre season
Lots of unknowns with ins and outs but this idea of the World Cup has meant that the 2 games today has become a problem doesn’t add up
We needed consistency from where we left off last season to how we went into this season seemed an obvious expectation
From what has been completed so far this pre season it’s become increasingly unconvincing in establishing a style and team that will take on the challenge of Championship football
This starting 11 in each half with numerous Youths and Trialist mixed randomly with first teamer’s has given us little apart from ‘mins in the legs’ comments
We go into a incredible opportunity in the the Championship but it feels very flat

I’m disappointed with pre season and frustrated at the lack of incoming players especially now with Moylan going but I think some posters are getting far too carried away with their criticism. Let’s at least look at the first half dozen games or so before we start throwing people under the bus.

Something seems very wrong. For all the playing down of Skubala's importance that the club have been doing, the evidence this preseason seems to be that it was a bit more than stated.

Exactly what I was thinking too. Early last season I thought we were being over coached. Too many tactical changes and too many positional changes.

Skoobs eventually took command and had I think the final word- as a true Head Coach should. The result was a settled team from December playing a settled system- and a record run.

Will we miss that head coach decision-making role with two equal head coaches?

It’s too early to judge of course, but this dreadful pre season will have done no good for the senior players’ confidence in the new management.

You're not wrong. Battering from left, right and centre.

Getting to the stage where I'm not really looking forward to the start of the season anymore.

We have 8 league games between now and the first international break.

I’m happy to just see how things go in that period as we acclimatise.

I don’t expect 8 wins because that would be unrealistic, but if there aren’t green shoots of promise or, at the very least, something to get behind and believe in.. well, I can’t see Ron being the type to just leave things alone.

Fingers crossed it all works out, because I do like Tom and Chris.

Exactly what i said earlier and got criticised for. This should have been the most exciting pre season in years as we stepped up to the Championship.

Not sure I’ve seen anyone chucked under the bus unless I’ve missed some messages
I’ve seen numerous posters who are rightly saying were poor pre season
What’s you’re expectation from the first 6 games to be deemed acceptable??

This belief that they’ll work collaboratively on in match decision will be tested very early
I sincerely hope they can stay true to the ideology

I've not seen much of this years pre-season but from what I've read, it doesn't seem very positive. Just had a look at last season's pre-season as I couldn't remember how that went, this is how they compare :

25/26 - P6 W3 L3 - F 14 A 13

26/27 - P6 W3 L3 - F 6 A 10

Appreciate things are different now and the Championship will be a lot harder than League 1, but I'm sure we can still go and bloody a few of those Championship noses!

What on earth was he supposedly doing before December when afaicr he was also in charge?

Don’t really get what Chris and Tom are getting at, I’m not going to lie when they were first announced I thought it was the wrong decision and I know it’s too early to judge but they seem way out of there depth here

Think Skubala and Moylen are the sensible ones. Who would want this shambles on their CV.
You could be onto something .You dont have to support the Club' Old Shepherd' .If your not feeling it why not dick off and take your negative attitude with you ?
