Backing the sacking

He's gone over the line one too many times, if you or I had hit someone at work, in 99% of cases anyway, you would be sacked, why should this human being be any different? As Wurzel said he's not been 'sacked' but I suppose he has effectively.

If he assaulted someone after numerous warnings to conduct then I can't for the life of me see this is even a debate.

And Cameron sticking up for him was cringe worthy. You would think a PM would have more to worry than a workplace bully.

I'm backing the sacking, if me or you assaulted our bosses at work we would be in the police station let alone sacked. Top Gear will be no loss to me as I think they have totally ruined the program with "scripted ladding about" when their unscripted ladding about was a lot more funnier. Another disgusting note I'd like to point out about the program is when the top gear team are in third world countries they waste food, mock the countries ways and completely disrespect the places they go, utter disgrace.

I have never watched a complete episode of TOP GEAR. I did enjoy Jeremy Clarkson in "Great Britons" when he promoted the cause of the great engineer, Brunel.
And of course his contract should not have been renewed.
Having said that, I have heard that, because some of the BBC's output is provided by independent organisations, there is every possibility that his rather unprepossessing mug may be shortly reappearing on a TV screen near you.
He's not going to have to go to a food bank any time soon.

Yes. The BBC didn't have any other option but to sack him. I don't think T.G will continue anymore than 1 season now. I doubt the other 2 will stay. May already saying he is a former presenter and Hammond well, we shall see.

Another channel will take them on

No - I know that fighting someone at work is a sackable offence, but back in the day the BBC had a culture which allowed big-names to sexually abuse women and children and they weren't sacked so where have the BBC suddenly got their moral conscience from for a much less serious incident?

Everyone has their 'tipping point'.... even me! The fact still remains it was Clarkson who reported it to the beeb. It's their loss.....Lol

No!

I enjoy Top Gear enormously. It's one of the few programmes I actually try to see.
That said, I can't condone punching someone over such a trivial matter, so they had no choice other than the one they took.

I cant condone wasting NHS resources for a fat lip. Come on seriously! Storm in a tea cup.

TRIVIAL?

It was steak and chips ffs... of course the gobby shite should have been allowed to assault a fellow worker, he is afterall a god amongst presenters apparently!

And I've warned you before Wurzel, it isn't a fat lip, it is a weight challenged injury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair, to really judge this we'd need all the details. It is difficult to see how anyone assaulting a fellow worker can keep his job. However without knowing the tipping point, it isn't that easy to judge.

ie if I told someone sorry I didn't organise the food, I would expect to be punched. If I was abusive to someone and was calling them this and that etc, maybe I would!

To be fair... everyone who says "If we punched someone at work we'd all be sacked" is wrong.

You'd assume that's what would happen. But I've heard of plenty of scraps in factories and the guys just get a slap on the wrist. Even in an office environment there was a guy who used to work at our place who headbutted a fellow worker during a lunchtime game of football and was only put on an official warning.... the reason... he was a bloody good worker and the company didn't want to lose him.

This black and white world everyone seems to assume exists, quite simply doesn't.

Oh you mean discretion is the better part of valour works for me every time if you have a twat get shot if you have an asset a slap on the wrist will suffice and sometimes in life someone somewhere deserves a slap.

Not saying its right, but its what happens. If you're good at what you do you get away with more.

Look at John Terry. If he had the ability of Liam Ridgewell he'd have been sacked as a scummy racist a long time ago.
