Back To Being The Underdogs

Interestingly, it could well be that Concord overtake Braintree in the next few weeks. Braintree are already relegated back to NL South, where Concord currently occupy a play-off place after winning at Truro last night. And that is the dynamic nature of football: underdogs become top dogs over time and vice versa.

Just two seasons ago, Lincoln and Sunderland were four divisions apart; they could be playing each other next season. Ipswich were three divisions above us two seasons ago and we definitely are meeting them next season. The fact that they were City's first cup victims from three tiers above seems hard to believe now, but things change very quickly in this game. If Danny is to continue this journey, he will get his wish - we will pretty much be underdogs from now on.

Can you imagine that, by the way? Concord to Truro is 310 miles each way, and on a Tuesday night too. Most of them would have had to take a day off work just to get there. Talk about the dedication of the semi-professional footballer!
