B Team Last Night

Vital 1st Team Regular
Watched the youtube feed last night, along with six hundred others and another 650 in the ground and was highly entertained.

Two nil lead, playing well and comfortably deserving our lead showed we have a good side there, with some very good youngsters, at least three deserving the chance to take a place on the bench in front of a few others there. We also appear to have a bit of depth striker wise and he was one that could easily make the move up and at least get the odd twenty minutes to get him experience. Holdack, Ferry and Westbrook were, for my money all far better than a couple on the bench at the moment and deserve a shot.

When the mass substitutions started it lost a bit of interest and Liverpool showed they have more in depth than us although our starting eleven were certainly the better on the night. A two all draw lead to an interesting penalty shoot out which we won, thankfully, even if only to shut up their gobby keeper brought on especially for the penalties.

It has been a good week. The wonderful play and potential of the B team ( so much better than the development squad games which was like watching youth football) and the disciplined and quality of the first team today makes one feel very confident about our season after the disappointment of the Sheffield and Rotherham games.

If Thursday is typical it is well worth getting down to the B team games if you can It was of surprising quality and competitiveness. I agree several caught the eye as potential first team squad members but fir raw talent Shaibu looks very exciting.
