The biggest issue is that the fans are unhappy with Arshavin and Kerzhakov out of the first team. As far as boring football, most matches in the Russian league will bore you to tears.

Completely agree, I've watched some of it in my time when in Moscow and when for a while I continued to watch some of it on channel 5 - but it's horrendous most of the time, the standard for 95% of their games would be lucky to reach our Div 1 or even the above the border northern pub league..

As AVB is leaving come the end of the season or sooner, I wonder where he'll turn up next?

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in the PL again... :10:

Those ruskies ain't happy unless they are shooting one another anyway.... They love blood sports not football

He is a fake that was over promoted after having the only horse in a one horse town. I think even those who brought his whole clip board intellectual crap must be starting to see he is a bluffer. The luster is off the fad now and the returns will keep getting less. The bloke was never any better than a host of English first division coaches who with the squad he had at Porto would have matched what he achieved whilst playing better football. I honestly think Steve Mclaren is as good or better than this joker,

He is a crafty fecker. Goes to shit leagues and goes to the best team, then wins the league and acts like he is a genius.

If he comes back here he will get found out again.

Agree don, Stevie Mac is just as good.

I could comment, but I can't be bothered.

Although I guess this is a comment. Darn it.

...and you said you'd already said your last word on AVB too... :10: :17: :33:

I hope he does mate but I bet he will not return for exactly the reasons you say, he'd get truly rumbled.

I actually rate Steve McClaren. Season before last he was the reason QPR were bossing according to everyone I know connected to them, left and took Derby to the playoffs from middle of nowhere while QPR dropped off badly. Obviously didn't do it last season but be interesting to see how he does with Newcastle.

As for AVB, people who try and take away from his achievements at Porto will find they don't know what they're talking about. He took a team who finished 3rd the season before he joined to an unbeatables season. You can't do that if you're clueless.

Perhaps he's ill suited to the premier league, or perhaps he's not a truly top class manager, on the flipside maybe he'd have made it work if given time/the players he needed it's impossible to know but he's nowhere near as bad as some of you make out. He's still only 37, who knows what he'll have achived by the time he's the same age as say McClaren (54) Koeman (52) or even Pochettino (43). In fact he's already won more silverware than 2 of the 3 and more European cups than all 3.

Well balanced in such a polarized environment. :35:
