Aston Villa Vs Sheffield United

Right, on to the next one. Hopefully, we'll start this one with some strikers.

After 7 points dropped in the last 3 games, it's time to shake things up.

Hopefully, we'll get a few more back from injury during the week to give us a few options.

I'd go with:

Johnstone

Hutton Chester Jedi Taylor

Snoddy Whelan Hourihane Grealish

Hogan Davis

Put O'Hare on the bench and leave Gabby at Bodymoor.

Tactically, I'd tell Grealish to push up and play off Davis with Snoddy moving inside to make it 4-3-3 to start with and then have him drop back into a 4-4-2 if we are under pressure like Arsenal did with Parlour and Overmars. I'd also have them switch wings during the match just to fuck with their defenders. I'd keep moving Grealish around so that their defence can't settle.

I'm not going to get to watch this one (or Brentford) because of the late kick off. It's disappointing because I think we are going to break out mini-slump here.

All teams go through a bad patch each season so let's hope this one is now behind us.

Time for Steve Bruce & Co to earn their big wages by getting it right for a change?

Buddy's first game, so obviously a big and entertaining win. 4-0

That and a big lottery win on the Friday night before the game would seal a fantastic weekend mate!

Here's hoping :35:

No reason not to play O'Hare in my humble. Certainly no reason not to play Hogan AND to concentrate in training this week on supply.

Can't wait for this, want them to send us away happy and simply can't wait to see Buddy and how he reacts to the place. I might even let him sit in my seat on the front row and in all my years as a Villa fan, I've never moved for anyone!

Well Sheff U seem to be on the slide a bit, so we should be in a position to see them off quite comfortably, especially as it's at B6.

3-0 Villa, Hogan hat-trick :4:

The results haven't gone their way but they have been playing better than us.

You will all be pleased to hear that I cant get up for this one. I have a happy knack of not being in attendance when we have our better performances and results.
With the above in mind I confidently predict that we bounce back from our last two fiascos and register a 2-0 victory.
CMON YOU LIONS.

Just can't see us being up for this , Blades may not be winning but from what I've seen of them at least they battle and have been unlucky . When was the last time we got beat and could honestly say we didn't deserve it ?

hopefully we will have a few back from injury and Bruce will stumble across a winning team

and no 4 6 0 formations

I'm with Silhill on this one. 1-1 for me too.

Hopefully Davis will be fit and Hogan?, well he's playing for the U23s v Sandwell so I hope that helps sharpen his shooting boots up.

As a side issue, I see Sheffield Utd are in the running for Ulla too - if of course we actually are. If they go for a straight buy, we're up a creek without a paddle.......

Think I'd play Grealish as the number 10, which effectively means that only one of Hogan and Davis can play. Main thing is we need to get the ball forwards quicker, not only to Grealish but to players like Adomah. There are some other things I'd try but they won't happen.

Looking at recent results we should win this one. But Sheffield U are more likely to arrive with a winnable game plan.

Im always as positive as can be but yes Fulford we cannot afford to keep failing to pick up max points.

On the bright side at least the playoffs mean extra games :4:

Of the teams immediately below us, Leeds and Preston look good for wins; we need to at least draw to stay in the top 6.

On Boxing Day, Leeds, Sheffield U, Ipswich and Preston all look good for wins, so we really need to beat Brentford away.

The following Saturday Leeds and Sheffield U look good for wins, Ipswich v Derby too close to call, Preston have a tough one against Cardiff.

On new year's day they're all too close to call, to my thinking.

This is truly crunch time. On January 2nd we still need to be in the top 6. If we're not, it's not so much about our actual position, it's about how good we are as a team.
