Aston Villa v Tottenham Match Thread - Sunday 16th Feb, 2pm

Just said on Sky that there is a chance the game could be postponed. The river Tame is close to bursting it's banks and if so would cause major problems.

We just need a Leicester-esque performance, nick a 2-1 win and climb up the table a bit. Come on! Big Jack will surely be bang up for this with all the transfer speculation last summer.

And with the loan of Chester it has now left us without backup on the bench. At least we can change the full backs if it’s all going to shit!

Aston Villa, 3-4-3 : Reina; Konsa, Engels, Hause; Guilbert, Drinkwater, Nakamba, Targett; El Ghazi, Samatta, Grealish.

Subs : Nyland, Taylor, Elmohamady, Hourihane, Nakamba, Trezeguet, Borja.

Horrendous team selection, could do with a late postponement or game getting abandoned
Always good to get an early criticism in to settle the nerves. You'll ease into it from there.

Spurs front four might have fun against us today. Think we need an extra body in that midfield but maybe Jack will drop a little to help out. Eek.

It's funny how one name being dropped from a team has such an impact on expectations. Without Mings my heart dropped. Hopefully we'll get through this year and create a bit more depth to not be so dependant. With that said... Come on Villa, a win today would be so huge. Four points clear is within our reach for at least the next 15 minutes!

We really do need the team to put in one hell of a shift today............. and that's from the first whistle, NOT sometimes around half way through the match.

Get your arses into gear Villa and we could do this. COME ON YOU LIONS!!!

Would prefer to have had 3 in that midfield but as has been said above Jack Could drop into midfield. Doubt it though. Spurs will rampage through those 2.
