Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest match thread sponsored by Kali

At first glance you are correct - the statistics tell a different story
Since Dyche came in we have 16 points from 13 games - even with the 4 losses on the spin. Averaging 1.25 points per game
West Ham are averaging 0.66 points per game and that ratio has deteriorated under Nuno.
You are right - I am confident - but that confidence is based on facts and statistics

All this is true, happily, but we are forest and none of us need reminding of the mind numbing number of times we have snatched defeat from certain victory from yeovil to the not losing by 3 goals with sabri and on and on. I have confidence we wont go down too but no room at all for complacency and we certainly HAVE been in a relegation scrap. Maybe we think we were but we have won it beating spammers but more than enough room for us to flop it.

I won’t disagree - because anything can happen as often has in the past.
I am portraying confidence because I believe it and also because all of these doom and gloom merchants are literally willing it happen so they can say - I told you.
This is truly a depressing place at times - but some revel in it

Given what has happened in the past, I can fully understand people being nervous.

7 points is a nice cushion, but nothing can be taken for granted, and it's not only us who should be looking over our shoulder.

Leeds, as tenacious as they seem, are 1 win in 7.

Bournemouth are in free fall; 1 win in 12 - the latest win against Spurs was their first win since we played them in October.

Spurs 1 win in 6

Palace 6 games since their last win

Everton 1 win in 6

Brighton 1 win in 8

Sunderland 1 win in 8

Now, some of those teams may have enough points on the board now, but it used to be a regular occurrence for a team, seemingly safe, getting dragged into a relegation fight, and it will only take a sequence of wins from West Ham for that to be possible this season, as unlikely as it seems now.

Palace haven't won in 9 in all competitions, and the standard of their opposition in the Conference League and FA cup have been bobbins

Fully agree
I hope people don’t take this wrong way - but West Ham are in turmoil and Nuno is really struggling to get any level of performance out of them. We need Sullivan to stick with him - the only way I see them getting out of it is if they make a change and bring someone like Bilic in - who would give them a ‘new manager bounce’.
You have listed another 7 teams that are in worse form than us as well as the bottom 3
There will be a few of King Billy’s twists and turns - but we will be fine

Bournemouth will really struggle now without Semenyo. He is going to be really tough to replace.
