Aston Villa: Memory Lane

Always amazes me seeing empty seats when I see footage of the great night.

I was only 8 and watching in a hotel bar in Majorca .
What was the crack with the ticketing that there were spaces like that ?

Oh God I missed this! Chico Hamilton, what a player he was, how much would he be worth today? He was brilliant to watch, a real hero of mine. Those unforgettable League Cup Semis against Man U - they were s**t scared of him. Jesus - when I think about it, Chico, Pat McMahon and Willie Anderson in the same team - effing priceless. Magic days, magic memories. Thanks Chico.

And from memory - room for plenty plenty more. Bring it Back. I won't happen will it - progress, political correctness blah blah blah - THE end in football, the rest are pretenders. A jam packed Holte back in the old days [ok only 67 onwards for me] was a sea of Villa surging on a massive wave towards the renaissance. It wasn't just in the magnificently awesome games like Man Utd, Santos, Soton, Bournemouth and others either. Just some that spring to mind are Sheff Utd 75, Cardiff 68, the games against the shit, but also games like Burnley in the LC in 70.

Still - you want a crush - Layer Rd Dec 74 on a Tuesday.

The top of the Holte was the place to be - never to be forgotten.
