I'd not seen this story before. Aston Villa lost the European Cup. You might recall we also had the FA Cup stolen as well!

Lol, I'd never heard that story before either.

Couldn't see them taking the cup down to the local nowadays. Maybe some poncey nightclub though :3:
 
This rings a bell actually. I seem to just about remember one of the players in an interview saying that they had lost the trophy. Can't think who said it though.

 
I think it was Colin Gibson MD , although the story was different from the one described in the article. They took it to the pub but left it to each other to bring back or something like that.
 
I can remember the incident well but then I'm older than most of you whippersnappers!

Yeah, two involved in the Lions & Legends have confirmed it. Gibbo, Sid, Pat and Morley. Apparently the story as quoted in the article I did was pretty much word for word.
