Aston Villa Club Crest-Badge

Vital Football Legend
I prefer the term club crest but hey ho some call it a badge...... however

As we are about to launch the new kits would it be time to ditch the pink and yellow effort we currently have? Randy Lerner bless him thought it a marketing gimmick to change it.
I hate the fucking pink fluffy background and the claw less lion.

Tony X please change it back to one of the original historical crests.

I have championed tge fact this badge needs to go since Lerner finally went.

The badge was a terrible ameteurish design done by someone who hadnt got a feckin clue about football. I mean, a star - everyone knows what that means apart from the idiot who did it (and the idiotswho approved it).

And then it was the badge that symbolised the worst era in 50 years and maybe ever.

Get rid NOW !!!!!

As for the replacement. Personally i would go back to the 57 badge that was ours for ni on 60 years and sat proudly on the inside and outside of the most beautiful stand in history.

If not tge 57 - the round one.

With a PROPER star !!!!

I have always liked the badge from the 60's in a shirt worn in the photo by Derek Dougan.

Maybe I'm being a bit sentimental because it was my first Villa kit but the badge has class.

I also liked the one worn by the late Brian Godfrey below.

Done it.

Its being done from tge 57 shurt.

I was birn in 1970 and as far as I am concerned, that is Aston Villa. If it was good enough to be displayed on tge Trinity Riad from the day it was built, to the day it was knocked down, its good enough for me

A modern version round badge as a nod to the best period in our history (Printed one off to make use of the tax disc holder once I didn't have to display one) or a modern version of the one that was on the trinity road stand as a nod to our history. Should drop the star altogether in my opinion, we all know we've won the European cup.

When did we change to the round badge from the 57 shirt one?.

I didnt know there was two versions of the round badge?.

Hate the 90's one. The stripes in the background are wrong. We should leave stripes to the obessesd over in Sandwell. Like that 2000 stripe kit. Yuk.

Showing my age, it I would love to go back to something simple like this: http://www.scoredraw.com/premier-league/aston-villa-fc/16_aston-villa-1971-no8-shirt.html

Yeah I had the away shirt from 1971 the yellow and blue one.

They've only just changed it haven't they, removing prepared and adding claws. What i want to know is who sat on the fans focus groups that offered their opinion that led to the last crappy badge?

If i remember rightly the article launching the badge mentioned removing 'prepared' so it would be better for digital use. And apparently it wasn't considered necessary by those on the focus groups.

I disagree. I like a good moto. And there's none better than a one word moto is there. Simple and reminds me of the scouts.
