No I don’t agree it would’ve been different actually, had we been an Everton or a mighty Southampton.
The forums of Everton and Leicester were just as vocal as here.
We all remember the story of Trojan Horse from school? It wasn’t hard to see through it.
Also, the owners and smart people can see through disaster capitalism. Make radical changes and proposals when people or organisations are desperate, luckily the league is fairly split in terms of revenue because had the lower half teams like us suffered from a huge loss in matchday revenue putting us on the brink, the leverage for the top 2/6 would’ve been huge.
The way revenue is structured has ironically kept the problem of any desperate decisions from the likes of us away because there’s no leverage for the tops clubs from this proposal, which I never understood because the EFL had no say on it anyway.

The same I reckon. Under any objective consideration it was a stupid proposal doomed to failure. It's noticeable that there wasn't the slightest hint of backing from the other 4 of the top 6.
