Aston Hotel / Aston Tavern

Vital Youth Team
After leaving the game early I decided to have a pint so trotted to the Aston Hotel which was closed (refurbishment?) So then went to the new Aston Tavern.

They wanted £3 just to enter the pub. Errrrr no thanks. One pint in this 'fan's pub' would of been £6.50.

Stick your pub up your arse, bunch of money grabbing *****.

I went the tavern today also. 6 quid for me and the old man. Promises of hog roast and ale. Well how about a bar with 6 people deep and the old bill swarming round the beer garden. Great
Lovely building. Great.decor but was still craving the simplicity of the kings edwards. Think will drink in powerleagues bar next game.

My guess is that match days is the only thing keeping a lot of pubs afloat nowadays. You only have to look at how many pubs are closing down to at least consider the possibility. The industry is suffering big style, so whilst it's a pisser paying £6 for a pint if you only want one, I get why they have to do it.

Par for the course of a matchday isn't it at all of them?

The Aston Hotel 'only' charged a quid to get in before the game and nothing afterwards.

Thing was I tried to get in at half time (ok call me fairweather for leaving at half time but I knew the second half would be shite and I was right) - there was no one in there and they still wanted their £3. They could of made some money out of me at the bar, poor business sense.
