Arsenal v Newcastle

Kraft and Lascelles were very poor, Kraft consistantly outpaced and Lascelles just standing there with hand in the air. Both had no positional sense, Thought the first penalty shout with the player being grabbed around the waist was a better call than Wilson being nudged off the ball. Was Joelinton on the field?

You spelled "are" wrong mate.

That was Lascelles worst game in a good while yesterday - same for Wilson who was slow to get shots off in good positions

I expected nothing from yesterday though but at least it gave Dubravka a game to get settled in

I didn’t expect anything and unfortunately would not be surprised if we don’t get 6 points from the next 2 games. Perhaps I need to resign myself to the fact that we will be playing Championship football next year. Let’s hope that doesn’t backfire on us. One things for sure every other fan of the clubs in the P.L. will be delighted if we go down. I will just have to put a brave face on it living where I do. I usually enjoy banter but this will go beyond that I feel.

Me I can't imagine what Howe is looking at in training mind.

Do Krafth and Richie seriously look to be the best options at full back? Neither of them could be even described as vaguely competent full backs at this level. I am not saying Manquillo and Lewis are top class. But at least they are specialist full backs and they were on the bench.

As for Lascelles words fail me. A wheely bin would be in the right position more often than that man (the old stopped clock is right twice a day analogy). He was so lucky not to give away another penalty too. For me he makes (for example) Titus Bramble look like Beckenbauer.

Add JoeLinton into the mix, last week aside granted, and we are basically trying to do a difficult job with 7 men.

There simply has to be better footballers at the club to do those jobs than the ones getting picked week after week. Howe needs to get a grip and fast.

Same here mate, can't see them getting 6 points from Norwich and Burnley. And the Arsenal fans around here can just fuck off.

There aren't.

Well if you are right we are really in trouble! Me I still think Manquillo and Lewis at full back, Fernandez in place of Lascelles and basically anyone who can stand up and kick a ball instead of JoeLinton. Richie might work on one side of the front 3. It is his specialist position after all.

Wonder when Dummett will be fit? he used to be a half decent defender.

Right or wrong, we're in the shit either way.

They have no clue defensively and going forward, their build up play is often ok until the final ball. They simply don't know what to do. Instead of any kind of incisive pass to break down a defence or create a half chance even, the ball goes sideways or backwards. We then inevitably lose possession and are on the back foot again. Top and bottom of it, we're generally shit.

Agreed 100%, from what I have seen we are currently the worst team in the division. Poor to average all over the pitch.

We are full of Championship players at best for some that’s why I can’t see a way out of this mess we are in. It’s doing my head in.

We have said many times that we'd take multiple relegations if it meant we could be rid of Ashley and I reckon we have to resign ourselves to the fact that the rebuild will have to start in division 2. Such is the long term damage that has been done.

On saying this, if we get 4 points minimum off the next 2 home games and we're within touching distance of a little mini group of clubs when the transfer window opens then January will become the most important month we've had in over 13 and a half years.

Basically it's the next 32 days that determines whether we can get excited at the prospect of being a proper football club looking to invest massively in the window or one that has an eye on it's future rebuild with loans or intelligent buys as a stop gap until the job starts proper.

Faversham Canterbury area mate
I studied years ago at a Sports College near Canterbury in a place called Nonington. Used to be a long journey back to Whitley Bay way back then. Anyway back to tonight hope we can nick a win and likewise come Saturday. If not it could be curtains for this season.

A win tonight I think. Just hope the owners act speedily in the transfer window, unlike they have with the DOF
