Arsene Wenger made the bold claim on Sunday that it was “ideal” Arsenal had eight players out of contract in less than 12 months’ time, also hinting that Mesut Ozil would see out his current deal and leave on a free transfer next summer.

Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, both of whom have just one season to run on their contracts. In addition to those two marquee names, Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Per Mertesacker and Mathieu Debuchy will also be out of contract next summer.

Why would you let this happen. Especially ozil and sanchez, thats over 100m worth of players can just walk away. Even if you dont play them just sell them for a small fee.

Dont get me wrong I think its funny but pretty stupid. Why would you call it ideal lol.

We should put in a cheeky bid for OX as i think he would be a good signing.

He knows ozil, sanchez and ox will walk for nothing unless sold. The problem is that is 3 of there best players and he cant afford to lose them lol

Wengers right about one thing; you will see more and more players run their contracts out or down to the last year, perhaps even 6 months.

Agents can now gorge themselves on the fees they take as part of a signing on fee or a transfer fee - and it's massive money.

Walkers agents on the other hand is said to have 'only' earned £2.6 mill from his deal - contrast that with what Pogba's got....
