When you look at the money they’re spending, you can see why Skubala was quite keen to join them.

The outlay on transfers obviously brings pressure, but if they promised him a budget of £20m+ whilst also trebling his weekly wage, it’s a no-brainer for him really.

Although it puts Skubala in an awkward position. Having spent so much money, expectations will be sky high; and if they fail to win promotion quickly, the new financial regulations may become a big problem for them. He absolutely has to succeed, and has little time in which to do it.
