Argie bargie at West Ham.

Read an article that said the Police aren't allowed inside the ground, and it's left to the stewards to manage the crowds.

Ridiculous.

I'm sure it's not "aren't allowed", the Police can go whereever they want. I think the reason the Police don't attend is that their radios don't work inside the Olympic Stadium (which is similarly ridiculous).

If there's trouble when they are playing Watford, what is it going to be like when Spurs, Stoke, Man Utd, Chelsea etc are there?

Seeing as the Tax payer is subsidising them to a rediculous degree you would think they would at least have the decency to pay for adequate security!

Isn't that part of the subsidy - that West Ham are not paying for any security (or at best, only part of it)? Most of the tab is picked up by the stadium, along with other running costs...

Not sure if they pay any of the security but they definitely pay minimal to rent the stadium and do not even pay for the corner flags lol. Anyone know What happened to the legal challenge?

?The MPS (Metropolitan Police Service) is not able to provide Special Policing Services at this time as it would normally, as there is no satisfactory radio system across the ground."

Newham council refuse to pay for the police inside the stadium. I don't see why they should anyway. As West Ham are getting the use of a world class stadium, for a relatively low rent, then they should pay for any police presence.

What happened to the money from the sale of Upton Park? Where did that go? Sorry, but for once I really can't be bothered to use Google on this phone and risk another 10% battery drop for 1 minute on an app.

Wait, this is the first I've heard of this "sit next to your mates" policy - does this mean it was kind of unreserved? How the f.. Can that work in a 50,000 full-up stadium?!

I'm guessing any "noisy ends" (given surely they can't advertise standing areas) would've been lower tier behind the goals, which is where the temporary stands are, so they wouldn't want to stand or sit there. The single tiered side stand actually looks quite impressive. It still doesn't make up for the pathetic "retractable lower tier" which is half Temporary scaffolding over the lower tier ready to be taken down each athletic event.

And on that subject, what happened to the money from the sale of Maine Road?
